New Zealand "hippie" communities?

Everyone in Australia knows that Nimbin NSW is the drug colony of the country and if it isn't then it is the most well known. I was wondering is New Zealand has any place like Nimbin? Or several towns like it? I have never heard of a drug town like Nimbin being in NZ.
