Hi all,
I'm a graduate student of journalism (please don't hate me yet, I really am a human being) in NYC. I'm working on a longer alt-weekly (like Village Voice) sort of piece about pharmaceutical grade amphetamines and methamphetamine (desoxyn) use in the area. If anybody is willing to speak with me or knows someone who would, that'd be lovely. And anonymity comes with that, of course. I'm obsessive about keeping sources safe.

I'm also just fascinated by drugs, which is why I'm writing this piece. That, and I'm tired of reading inaccurate freak-out articles all the time.

But other than the usual teenage experimentation I've lived vicariously through others, as I'm concerned my extreme OCD could make anything stronger go horribly, horribly wrong. 8( Sometimes even pot was a mind racing nightmare when I was younger.

Anyway, I appreciate any help regarding this article, and look forward to reading more as time goes on, although I feel silly considering I don't have much to share myself. I do enjoy drinking, however. It's a journalism requirement, essentially. ;)

Cheers!

Don't feel silly, I'm here and I don't do much of anything!:) I hope you will find people willing to share their experiences. good luck.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone! Looking forward to learning more. I want to be as accurate as possible with my writing. There are too many lazy/sensationalist reporters out there covering sexy topics like drugs by talking to one or two sources and calling it an epidemic.
