New years eve night louisville,ky, got "pulled over" by the narcs in a under covervan

[OK HERE'S THE DEAL ME AND MY " BEST FRIEND" WERE GOING TO PARTY ON NEW YEARS EVE. WE WENT TO VISIT A FRIEND THAT LIVES ON MUHAMMAD ALI IN THE PROJECTS. SINCE I'M NOT FROM LOUISVILLE I DIDN'T KNOW THAT IT WAS A HOT SPOT. WE HAD JUST PULLED IN AND WE WERE SITTING THERE ON THE SIDE OF THE STREET TALKING TO MY FRIEND WHEN A VAN PULLS UP BEHIND US. Then came the blue lights and 4 cops got out of a van and came over to the car and asked what we were doing down there. WE SAID THAT WE WERE JUST DROPPING OFF A FRIEND OF MINE DOWN HERE BECAUSE THAT IS WHERE SHE LIVED AT. Well then they had her get out of the car first and asked who the guy was talking in the car and we were like that's her boyfriend. Then they had my "best friend" out of the car cause she had some pills on her but they were only something prescribed to her. So then they make me the driver get out of the car, and I did of course. [/COLOR] They ran our id's and nothing came back cause I'VE NEVER BEEN IN TROUBLE WITH THE LAW. They asked if anything was in the car and i said alcohol. And they said nething else and I said NO! Well they didn't ask to search the car but did anyways, and they found 2 capsules in the back seat of the car. He gets them out of the car and says what is this I WAS LIKE I HAVE NO IDEA, he said i'm going to ask you again what is this and I SAID I KNOW KNOW.. He said what do you think it is and i SAID ecstacy. And he said it was a molly. They were in the back seat of the car where the other girl was sitting and I HONESTLY DIDN'T KNOW THAT THEY WERE IN THERE. Well he says who's are they and No one would confess to it so he said ONE LAST TIME WHO'S R THEY, OR YOUR ALL GOING TO JAIL. SO my friend says they are my husbands who wasnt' even there. So I said yeah they are mine, cause i didn't want him to get into trouble for something he had nothing to do with any of it. So now i have a court date in feb.!!!!! I CURRENTY WORK IN THE MEDICAL FIELD AND AM GOING BACK TO SCHOOL TO PERSUE MY NURSING DEGREE. SO I CAN NOT HAVE A DRUG CHARGE!!! DO I NEED A ATTORNEY??// HELP ME PLEASE I'M 26 YEARS OLD AND HAVE 3 CHILDREN AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN ANY TROUBLE IN MY LIFE!!!! WHAT SHOULD I DO??////8o

First, kill the yellow font. Hard on the eyes.

Second, I am not too positive about getting/giving law advice on here as it is an international forum and there are so many variables.

Third, get yourself an attorney and talk to the officer who was on the scene. Then get in touch with the clerk of courts and explain your situation. You can PM me if you want to talk. I am in a similar jam myself.

Last, expect this thread to get closed.

I know it sounds harsh but its the reality. I am nice :)

This happened to a friend in jersey ,only she was fought with coke and gun. It was someone with her,but they charged her. She is a nurse. After a year and never getting in trouble she was able to get it expunged off her record and board of nursing never found out. But you really should get a lawyer to help you. Also, I'm a nurse and your potential future earrings$$$$$$$$$ depend upon you possibly beating this. Good luck!

That sucks, stupid on your part for taking any responsibility though, even if you was trying to be a good guy. Good luck.

THanks, yeah it was really stupid for me to admit it was mine. When it wasn't, but thy have a way of intiminating you into saying whatever.

Lawyer up. Good luck but kiss your nursing license good bye even if you don't get convicted.

I got a conditional discharge that expires in 6 months with good behavior and I can't get a job in healthcare, where I previously worked without incident. I'm not allowed to work in NYS, and I seriously doubt I'd be able to work in any other state to be honest. Once they get you within the system, unless you pay a lawyer to get the charges completely dropped I'd look for another line of work. Even then it's on your record and I've heard even if expunged you won't be allowed to work with patients.

I'm pretty sure this is consistent in all states but I'm by no means an authority just sharing personal experience.

I'm not being harsh here but honestly I wish someone would have told me that even with the charges being dismissed I'd be denied a job on account of the background checks. It's horribly unfair, but it's the way it is. I'm sorry.

That and welcome to Bluelight. Please read the BLUA in my signature as this is in the wrong section. We also no longer give legal advice other than to advise you to get a lawyer.
