Just remembered, there's another reason why I don't go out on NYE any more.
Some genius decides to severely restrict all public transport (when it actually needs increasing. Although they probably struggle to get drivers to work that shift tbf.) and all taxis are booked, resulting in scenes like this

ONE late bus to take everyone home from Piccadilly along the A6 to Hazel Grove!?
The whole thing is just far more trouble, stress, and expense than it's worth.
Not even mentioning having to pay £10 -£20 just for the priviledge of entering many pubs on NYE.
Just fuck the whole thing right off, as far as I'm concerned!
House parties with friends or family is the only way to do it now imho. Or just forget about it all together is the other option.
