Greetings all. I went to the ER 2x in one weekend over a month ago due to dizziness and chest pains. Turns out my family heritage and the quickly gained weight over the past couple years put me in the very high Cholesterol/Blood pressure category. The second er visit after finding nothing wrong I was prescribed xanax .5mg 3x daily and immediately I started feeling better. The noise runaround in my head was gone and so was the racing heart, chest pain and sweating that I was dealing with daily for quite some time. I have been eating healthy (heavy salt user) and completely changed my diet along with the BP and cholesterol meds being taken daily my numbers are normal and I feel more energized than I have in years so things on that front are good. Problem is that I cannot get my xanax refilled for 4 days and there have been several occurrences when I felt the panic onset and took an extra pill over my daily dosage which did help. I have been taking 1.5mg and sometimes 2mg daily over the last 4 weeks. I can only take .5mg daily until my refill in four days. Will the effects be dangerous? The next four days all i have is work so one in the morning is the plan to ease my day then just deal with the rest with some exercise. I would rather not call the doc due to him thinking I am abusing the drug and my hopes of the changes and added exercise will cause me to not need as much as I continue to get healthier in the next month. I was very wound up prior to xanax and it has helped tremendously but don't want to get into to a high daily dosage since I have read the horror stories about getting off of it.

Thanks for any advice on this.
