With the changes afoot in the Words forum (see the guidelines, especially point 1: “Focus of the Words Forum”), we’ve decided it’s time to add a third moderator to the team.

If you think you have what it takes to moderate the forum, and would like to apply for the position, please send me a Private Message (PM). You may wish to include the following info in the PM:

1. Why you think you’d make a good Words mod.
2. Why the Words forum is important to you.
3. Any background experience that you think is relevant. While no particular experience or qualifications are necessary, if you think it’s relevant, then it’s probably worth drawing our attention to it.

Preference will be given to members who have been regular, thoughtful contributors to the forum.

The closing date for applications will be Saturday the 14th of October.

If you have any questions about the position, the process, or whatever… feel free to post them here, or else drop me a PM.

It's very early days... there's been a bit of interest, but I wouldn't say my inbox has been flooded.
 
Thanks to everyone who applied. :)

As RareForm has opted to leave his post due to other commitments, we will be appointing two new moderators.

There were a number of very good candidates, which has made the job of choosing between them quite difficult.

A final decision and announcement will be made soon. :)
 
Heads up on this issue - I am the bottleneck. The mods are pretty close in their selection but I need to check into a few things first and may not get it done until next week. So, send your hatemail to me, not them :D
 
wesmdow was one of many fine candidates... Once again, thank you to everyone who took the time to apply.

It was a tough call to decide the final two, but congratulations to up all night and Raz. :)

I'm sure everyone who frequents this forum will recognise that both up all night and Raz are worthy of the role, considering the contributions they have made over the years.

I have a lot of faith in both of them, and I'm sure that under their influence, Words will continue to offer Bluelighters what it has always offered, and much more besides!

(TheLoveBandit tells me that mod 'super powers' will be activated in the next day or two)

Several quality candidates applied, and whereas we only had two positions we could fill, I trust the rest of you will continue to be outstanding contributors the forum regardless of title <3 Members make the forum work, make it the quality and loving place it can be - thank you all.

As for the new mods, here is your pick and shovel, now off to the salt mines with ya' ;)
