New UK drug driving law and diazipam

Ok so the new UK drug driving law is now in full swing. It's says the limit for diazipam is 550ug/l . How much oral Diazepan does that equate to for an average 80kg man? Assuming a single dose. And how long would I be over that limit (if I am) given the long half life of Diazepan.

Basically I am prescribed 10mg diazipam when required, not daily. I don't want to loose my driving licence because of a prescribed drug, I could loose my job if I did.

I have spent ages looking for an answer and all I found was a best guess that 3.5mg diazipam puts you borderline with the legal limit. Even the .gov site won't give an oral limit.

Also what about tramadol? Also prescribed but I didn't see it listed on the .gov list and have been driving on it when I feel ok and definitely not when I am high.

Hmmm, diazepam has a really long half life potentially 40 to 100 hours. So that's not really helpful for your cause. However what are they really checking for? Benzos in general? Because if they are really just checking for benzos of all types you should probably get on a benzodiazepine that has a shorter half-life thus faster elimination rate and you'll be able to take it more often without risk of being at your legal limit.
