I'm on Adderal 25mg XR to actually take care of my ADD maybe a bit late in my life but its never too late to try and fix yourself I guess.

I've done meth in pill form (Canada is like that) very often, snorted or eaten, and this one time i bought a few of these (i actually was prescribed the same thing I tried recreationnaly before when I obtained like 8-9 of these pils).

I've been a week on it, some days i feel great, but today, even though i feel great in my mind, my body seems to really hate it. I get tingling in the feet and back, I don't feel very euphoric, more like weirded out and i'm not horny at all (that's also weird for me). I also get tingling on the side of my chest, but its nothing bad, got normal BP and pulse.

Is this sort of shit going to go away usually ? Or taking Adderal everyday is something I might not be able to take ? I used to party with meth pills for 2-3 days in a row and then not do it for a long time, so taking strong stimulants like that everyday is new to me.

Some get used to it and end up feeling okay after a week or two, some don't, and some never feel bad on Adderall. I personally feel like garbage an hour after dosing it. Adderall's mix of amphetamine salts is just much more side-effect laden than equivalent doses of methamphetamine (much smaller than a recreational dose) in my case. I also experience less side effects on halogenated amphetamines like 2-FA, and while I don't have ADHD, 2-FA seems like a better productivity drug overall. Plain old amp just isn't worth it in my book...

Thanks for the answer, although I have no idea where to obtain these newer RC amphetamine analogs, well I sort of do, but I don't trust sites that are too easily found. I'll give it one more week and then give up if it's going to be like that. I get them for free (yay canada) so i might just keep them to do once in a while to party.

Ugh, I just want to fucking work, I have a master's degree but I sit at home everyday doing nothing since 3 years. Adderal helps me be motivated and I actually already met people for a job twice, I just don't know what to do with this blank on my resume either. Anyway, it seems to have benefits, but yeah, not used to tweek everyday at all. 10 years ago maybe i would have been okay, at almost 30 year old I feel like I'm getting sensitive to drugs much more, that could be a factor.

I've been on adderal 10mg twice a day for about three years. I remember when I first started I definatly felt some similar symtoms to what you're describing and they went away after no more than a few weeks. I started out on the 15mg xr and I didn't like those very much. I found that I experienced more side effects with the xr then the ir and they would last too long a lot of the time so I couldn't sleep. I would suggest talking to your doctar about taking a coupl of irs a day rather than the 1 xr so you can kind of control the effects better. Also, I found that it helps to take at least a day or two off a week. It slows down your tolerance and you won't be a complete zombie if there's ever a day that you can't or don't want to take it for whatever reason. good luck

You've been on the drug so short a period it's difficult to say. It's possible your body is reacting badly to the l-amphetamine in Adderall. Perhaps you'd do better on Dexedrine (which contains pure d-amphetamine, not a 70/30% ratio of d- to l- as in Adderall). It's available as Vyvanse (people vary as to whether this drug is effective, wears off too quickly, or a total dud) as a pro-drug, or in spansules (which use old-school two bead technology, so if you have GERD you might not react well or they might wear off more quickly, as I found for me personally when I was prescribed dexedrine).

If the side-effects don't go away after 2 weeks on the drug, go back to the doctor and discuss other ADHD meds. You might also do better on a methylphenidate (Ritalin)-based drug.

You need to make sure you get a full night of rest. This is ESSENTIAL to a good amphetamine/adderall high. After much research several of my friends and I have basically come to the conclusion that "Amphetamine and sleep deprivation is one of the worst feelings in the world". You also need to make sure that you're eating plenty, drink a protein shake before you take it. Try to eat during the high or while you're coming down. The time release on Adderall XR releases 3 doses at different times. The first dose is instantly released, a few hours later a 2nd dose (same amount as the first dose) is released, then a 3rd and final dosed is released (same amount as the first two). I find that on XR it's helpful to eat between the come down and come up of these doses. Fruit is one of the few things I can force myself to eat on stimulants. Make sure you take vitamins every morning as well. Brush your teeth, eat healthy, shower often, ect.. make sure you keep on top of your health. Over time Amphetamine will slowly deteriorate your health weather it's pure or un-pure. I'd recommend taking at least one-two days off every week. Amphetamine is very specific to each person, so we can't tell you exactly what will happen or weather someone is temporary or not. One thing I can tell you though is to take the same dose everyday.. if you go over that dose at all then your tolerence will sky rocket. Amphetamine tolerance will quickly build in one night. And it can diminish in 3 days or less at times. I went through two weeks of w/d recently, felt amazing, got my health back up to par, and took 30mg of Adderall IR. I felt on top of the world, I had zero tolerance. I personally find that when I'm in my best health that Amphetamine and Adderall both seem to have far better "highs". Coffee will potentate adderall and amphetamine because of the Caffeine in it. Orange juice will decrease Adderall's effects to null and void. Do your research and know your chemical. Over time you'll learn about how to handle this chemical and how to make it work to make your life better.

Your question is to broad and you've only recently begun taking it. Your best bet is to do hours and hours of research (with the help of Adderall of course!) and to pay close attention to all the factors that play a role in it's effectiveness (different foods, medications, supplements and vitamins, ect..)

I find there is no other drug like Amphetamine or Adderall. I wish you the best of luck. :)

If anything, I've noticed that the side effects can get worse as use continues, daily use of amphetamines is asking for trouble...even with a prescription, its good to take a break from time to time.

Tolerance to these drugs for me and several others I have noticed it that it takes a long long time for tolerance to diminish back to normal. That depends on how often and how much you are taking though. My tolerance even after a year break remained pretty high. I use to binge and abuse the hell out of dexedrine for a couple years and now I take vyvanse, and don't abuse it anymore, but my tolerance is very high I need to take 2-3 70mg caps to even work like it is suppose to... I am about to get switched back to dexedrine as it is a much better medication over-all compared to the Vyvanse. I can't get prescribed any more vyvanse no matter what because the free medication card I get from shire manufactures will not go any more than one 70mg capsule a day... and its very expensive. Another reason why I am switching to the dexedrine if I am able to next appt. with my doctor. So I can have more but not have to pay the insane price that I would have to pay if I got my dosage raised on the Vyvanse.

Ohh yeah and I am switching with a completely different mindset in taking these drugs... I'm not trying to just get it back to abuse the dexedrine. I actually want a medicine that works well with the least amount of shitty feeling. And Vyvanse drags on and on with a shitty feeling.

Oh yeah very true. The little breaks help so much. It is like "resetting" yourself so-to-speak. Allowing you to take it again and feel the most normal without all the shitty shitty effects that build on you over time of daily use. I like to not take it maybe once every few days and then start it again after that day or two break, unless I run out early because I do not get prescribed enough.

I've never understood why people get this tolerance that never goes away. My thinking is because I take these little breaks all the time. Without the breaks I just have more and more negative side effects and an even higher tolerance. They help more than anything.

If you use a more than a therapeutic dose your body or your tolerance might need a break aka one day off, but I don't know if that's a good thing.

Using a substance daily makes your body used to it. Your body "measures" change relatively. If you do it every day, there is not much up and down, but if you dont do it for one day, or you only do it the whole weekend (a lot) it hurts you most.
Dont you come down on this day? How to integrate it into life? sundays? but thats the best day of the week ;)

Doing a small dose every day seems to be the wisest thing, for me. perhaps one day with a larger dose? [oh you said it boosts yourr tolerance :/
I'm more into homeopathic use ;)

This is only what I've experienced and heard. If you use higher doses it might be different.

Do you know a good source for experiments on this topic, a specific user blog or sth like that ?
What about food supplements?
other side effects like slowed down catharsis etc?

adderall daily sucks. take it once a day and then wait 1-3 days and dose again if you must. the longer you wait, the more your brain recovers and replenishes dopamine and serotonin levels (plasticity) resulting in a better experience..

I meant initial side-effects. When I started Adderall my appetite decreased a lot. But it's gradually gone back to "normal" range. It's possible that the OP has just encountered a one-time side-effect unrelated to the Adderall. But if the same symptoms continue, the OP might want to try a different medication, like Dexedrine, Focalin, Ritalin, Concerta, etc.

It's always good to take drug vacations from stimulants (even when you're prescribed them daily) to reduce tolerance issues. I usually only take 20-40mg Adderall IR 4-5 times a week (one time per day), but I'll go a week without it, too (when I forget to make an appointment for a refill).

I also have had severe ADHD since I was 9 (20 years). Switched from Dexedrine in college to Adderall and have been on the same dose for 3+ years.

Adderall doesn't react positively for me, unlike d-amp. Different strokes for different folks.

It sounds like you are getting too high of a blood pressure from Adderall XR. I would ask to be switched to something else. All amphetamines can raise the blood pressure but Adderall is an especially bad culprit.
