Hi guys,
Thanks for having this site around. I'm in (going to start late July) 4th yr med school. TBH, I've learned more reading posts here for 50 mins than a lot of classes. So, thanks for having this information out here. Im not looking for info on how to use, really, I was googling to see if plugging was real (had someone at work tell me about it and my dumba$$ didn't believe him) and found this place.
If I can be of assistance (though, really the heads seem to be straight on target) let me know. Take care of yourselves and have a good one.

plugging is real. didn't work for me as was too constipated anyway. upon finding a 5ml syringe my dad asked what is was for as i'd agreed to stop IV and told him i shoved it up my ass, he sighed, shook his head, "you really will try anything..."

You offer your help as a 4th yr med student?!?!

Awesome! If more MDs read these kind of real world accounts they'd be much better prepared for treating people with CD and identifying their own role in (sometimes) getting people into bad spots when they're just trying to help. No doctor I've ever known had his heart in the wrong place, but so many know too little about addiction and how to treat it. I encourage you to read more.

I'm hooked on kratom, coming off of a long, heavy poppy pod habit. (I ate the grouds of the dried pods.) Ever heard of this before? Most MDs have not, but a lot of peopl get an opiate addiction this way. Did you know about kratom?

SO, SO pleased to have you here doc. May I call you doc?

I'm also a doctor...of music. I have a DMA.

Cheers, fellow higher-ed peep.

And thanks in advance for answering my questions and talking with me. =D

warmest regards,
pods no mo'

Shoot, I agree more needs to be done about education in the real world. I knew of poppy pods only and I emphasize only because I was in Burma for a little bit and have a great friend who worked for DEA there. It's been amazing to me the sterility (is this a word or correct concept) of drugs in developed countries vs undeveloped.

Sorry, I had a Long better post, lost it. I have to go to work but will reply like a normal human when I get back. I appreciate the welcome and hope you all have a good day. Take care.

Hi there, welcome to BL! It's fantastic that you want to help out here, and I agree that this site could be an excellent source of knowledge for your training :)

I moderate BDD (Basic Drug Discussion) and we'd be delighted to have you help out answering queries - swing by and see what you think! We cover things like dosage, effects, combinations, pharmacology, dangers, a bit on psychiatric meds, IVing etc.. we do cover a lot of basic stuff but we also have some really interesting discussions about topics such as CYP-450 enzymes and psychopharmacology %)

You might also be interested in the focus forums such as Other Drugs and Psychedelic Drugs, or Drug Studies, or the less drug-orientated Science and Technology.. or The Dark Side for an insight into addiction and mental illness. There's so much information here and we're always looking for enthusiastic and knowledgeable people to contribute! If you've got any specific questions don't hesitate to ask myself or another member of staff, and I hope you find this site as enjoyable and informative as I do!
