Hello my name is Karen. I need some advise I have been on suboxone since feb last year have tapered down to 8 mg a day was on 16. I have been experiencing severe horseness in my voice hair loss and so on so I went to an ent on Monday. He took a camera and looked into my throat and saw some spots that he wants to biopsy because of the amount of time I have smoked along with sypmptoms.

I also have large turbenates that needs a reduction. I have struggled with the not breathing for quite some time until it has become harder to sleep at night. So I called the dr who prescribes my subs and he said that I can only take motrin after surgery but surgeon said no motrin or blood thinning meds for at least 2 weeks after surgery.

So I now have to make a decision weather to let the spots go in my throat which could be something that needs further treatment hopefully not. I want to know how difficult it is to with drawl from the sub and also I had read on a thread about katrum haven't even heard about that before does it have to be prescribed or can you get it at health food stores.

I posted this under the wrong place earlier I think sorry about that just not having a good day because of the dr saying what he did. He is always preaching to me that I have been putting off other issues I have dealt with concerning my health but this is something that I was shocked to hear. I have done research on the surgery itself and is pretty painfull afterwards. I just hope to hear some feed back to help me make this decision thank you for your time.

Hey Kareno and welcome to Blue Light=D

If I had anything that looked sketchy in my throat I would want it biopsied. I looked up the procedure for the turbenates and they said you would likely have some discomfort for two or three days. This kinda says to me that the discomfort will be pretty mild if it only lasts for two or three days and usually biopsies are pretty pain free as they usually just take really small amounts of tissue. I guess I dont understand why you will not be able to just take some tylenol and push through what looks to be pretty mild discomfort for a day or two.

I hope this goes well if you decide to do it Karen<3
