I was really into books as a kid but stopped reading when I got into high school. I read a book towards the end of last year (the hobbit) and then proceeded to read the lord of the rings series. I recently also read the beach.

The thing that I like most out of all these books is the adventure aspect. I love it when people are travelling places and going on adventures. I can't think of any other book I would really enjoy as much as these types.

Thinking back, when I was a kid I read a few of those goosebumps books which were big at the time. Like I say, I read a few but didn't really rate them very much at all. Then I discovered "Spooksville". I really liked these because people were always going on adventures and they were quite well written.

So basically that's exactly what I'm after. Obviously I'm a bit old for spooksville now so can anyone reccomend me some good adventure books?

I've had a look on amazon to see what they have but there is no category that even comes remotely near to what I'm after.

Does anybody know a website that reviews books in the same way that Amazon does? So that you can choose the adventure category then read a synopsis and below it other peoples comments/ratings?

I would really appreciate any help here, I really need a push in the right direction to get me started because as you can imagine, I'm not exactly very clued up in this area.

Thanx for your time

if you're into fantasy adventure like the tolkien series, you should really check out The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley.

The relationships that develop between characters are very deep and involving, there are many twists and turns, the book is written incredibly well.

Needless to say, I almost cried when I finished the book; I was so sad it was over.

I dont know if you would like this but I found it very interesting many years ago. I still re-read it about once a year...
