Opioids New to pm and dr put me on dilaudid ER

The doctor will most likely not write you another percocet script, they can only write a certain number of any certain drug for a person each month. He may tell you to file a police report if they were stolen, which isn't really worth it as it won't do anything. BUT, since you are in pain management, you may be tested to see if these drugs are in your system, as another poster mentioned. It is ultimately up to you whether you decide to file a report, but I just wanted to say the chances of the doctor refilling your meds are slim, just because of the new drug laws. It is possible he could write you a different mg amount or something like that, but he may be hesitant because the DEA is REALLY cracking down on doctors distributing pain medications. I would be hesitant to ask, myself, just because of the reactions I have gotten in the past when my medication was legitimately stolen by my junky friends...

You would definitely need to file a police report to have a chance of getting them replaced/refilled. Best suggestion is to get a lock box for all your controlled medications so that it doesn't happen in the future. As for the dillaudid most people don't get good pain relief from oral dillaudid because it has poor oral BA so maybe talk to your doc about switching to something like oxycodone which has a great oral BA. Best of luck!
