So for the past couple years I have been recreationally taking hydrocodone. Anywhere from (3-4)7.5mg at a time and have a good time.
This upcoming month I will be having quite a few Percocets coming my way. 10mg/325apap.
Seeing as how I have never strayed away from hydro's, I am curious what a NICE first time dose would be with these oxy's.
 
I remember reading somewhere (maybe on here) that hydrocodone is about two thirds as strong as oxy. So if you're used to taking 30 mg of hydrocodone, 20 mg of the Percs would be equivalent. That conversion worked for me, at least, and I was in the same situation.

Have fun! In my experience, the highs are subtly different and it was really interesting to compare them.
 
Yeah i have heard people saying that they are different opiate highs.
Cant wait to compare them.

Yeah, I would say 20mg would be a good dose to start with. I would take that much and wait at least one hour before redosing (in case that isn't enough).
 
Bro, honestly i'd take a 10-15mg to start to see where you're at. Once you start a dose IME it only goes up from there, be very careful, and be safe, best of luck to ya

I was thinking of just taking one 10mg today when i get them.
How is a oxy high different from a hydro high?
 
Most say its more sedating. I have em rn and when I get em I start with 1, 10/325 and it gets me high for like 6-8 times then I move to 15mg
 
So i took one, 10mg/325 around 4 hours ago. These percs were identified as a white ablong shape with the imprint U17 on them. It gave me a similar buzz than if i were to take two, 7.5mg/325 vicodins. Didnt notice a BIG difference in the high. In fact it was very short lived even on an empty stomach.

So maybe 15mg Perc would be a good plan of attack tomorrow? I wanna get a semi subtle "opiate blanket of warmth" going on. I feel like 20mg would be too much though.
 
I have those exact ones right now brutha, yeah if 10 didn't do it for you 15 is fine, but remember once you go up u cant really go down. Save yourself money and go as low as possible to feel good. Eating the pill on an alkaline stomach pH (opposite of acidic) REALLY helps, eat a lil baking soda (nasty) or just eat like some fresh veggies 15 minutes before (carrots, celery, strawberry, raspberry, grapes,). You can look up a chart of alkaline foods.

In my personal opinion, I feel like the oxy high is a little "speedier". (I've heard it described that way and thought it was a legit adjective. Ha!) I feel a little less noddy and more aware of the high, less dreamy I guess. And oxy gives me the shakes for some reason. I actually *slightly* prefer hydrocodone myself. I feel like it's a tiny bit warmer, more euphoric and lasts longer. And the comedown is a bit smoother for me. But it's a personal preference, I think. And oxy is nice because it's stronger, so a given amount will last longer. They're very similar highs and I would never turn down oxy. Don't worry, I'm not a total idiot :).

I always take opiates with Tums (just to second what Doctor.K said). Alkalinity is supposed to help a ton with absorption. Especially if you're a grapefruit-juice-first person.

its 2/3 analgesic strength which has nothing to do with euphoric but more for pain relief
 
Eh that could be accurate depending on the individual, for me its more like 2x the Oxy as compared with Hydrocodone, so (20mg Hydro = 10mg Oxy) for ME. Others may feel the same but some feel its more like (25mg Hydro = 15mg) oxy (which is a 5/3 ratio instead of 4/2). And even still, there may be those that feel oxy is 2.5x stronger than Hydros (25mg Hydro = 10mg oxy.)
 
I usually just pop a few tums, wait awhile, then do the percs. Careful what you wish for though, because this will make your tolerance go up faster too, no free rides on the devil train.;) BTW, Hydros put me to sleep, as in bad nod, while percs perk me up and get me motivated. Body chemistry I guess?
 
^ I'm the same way. Hydrocodone makes me sleepy while Percocet keeps me awake. I guess everyone's different.
 
I think given all the answers we've received, we can probably close this one down. We can help provide folks with safe dosages and approximate conversions, but as far as "what should I take to get a good buzz"-threads go, we don't like to field them. Recreational drug experiences are highly subjective and there's no way to tell one person what they may or may not like.
