Opioids new to opiates, questions regarding tolerance and Tramadol

So I've only done a few opiates before, opium a few times when it came around, some vicodin and norcos, oxycontin once, and I recently came into 30 Tramadol. So you could say I am quite ignorant, for I feel experience truly is the best source of knowledge in most cases.

I started taking the Tramadol a two days ago, and I only took 50mgs. yesterday I took 100mgs, and today I took 200mgs (spaced out over five hours). Yes I am aware these are very small doses.

How quickly can I expect my tolerance to develop, assuming I continue to take some every day or so, and how significant is the tolerance? Will it be all of a sudden I will need to double my amount, or will it creep up on me? How significant is the size of my dosage in respect to the tolerance accumulation, i.e. - if I keep my doses low, will it not be an issue, or are heroic doses roughly the same as smaller ones in terms of development?

In addition to this, out of curiosity does frequent nodding cause brain damage, which is clearly an exaggeration - I am not meaning damage that is terribly significant, due to lack of oxygen in the brain because of respiratory depression?

Edit: I think I should have called them collectively opioids, because most of them were synthetic, is this correct?

Sorry dude, tolerance is something that varies from person to person. Nobody can tell you how fast or severe it will be - it depends on how often you use and the dosages involved. It won't be instantaneous but if you are constantly tram'd up you will become dependent pretty quick.

Nodding doesn't cause brain damage. The gasp reflex is there for a reason. Passing the fuck out and not breathing for a period of time longer than a minute causes brain damage.

hey man tramadol is not only an opiate, it is an snri, for this reason daily dosing will cause you to develop a tolerance at the level you dose at. If you throw in some really big doses for fun, they will raise your daily tolerance... it is a cycle that is best avoided honestly.

Also, for as weak as tramadol is, it has a terrible withdrawal feeling because of the SNRI activity (similar to antidepressants such as wellbutrin)
