New to OP80's

Hello all... have about a 20 pills a day habit of 7.5 vicodins... Trying to stop but having s issue doing that... not able to get any but was able to get 3 OP80's.... never taken anything stronger then vicodins....

actually frightened to take them so only took a half of one of the OP80's about an hour ago finally feeling a little tingle...

What is the conversion OxyContin to hydrocodone ?

Not looking to get high but be well until get the courage to use the suboxone strips that are in the cabinet...

Keep in mind that OPs are extended release so all of the drug will not be released at once. I think they're designed to last 12 hours.

ONE OP 80mg tablet is equivalent to roughly 16 percocets, its time release so it releases 8 percocets worth immediately (40mg oxycodone) and the other half 6 hours later. i would say one OP 80mg is right around where your tolerance is with the lortabs, taking 20 a day, maybe a little bit more then an OP 80mg, but right around there. but if u take all 20 lortabs at once for that buzz us addicts look for, then taking 1 OP 80 wont satisfy you since your body is only releasing 40mg of oxycodone (8 percocets worth/8 lortab worth) so in that case just take 2 OP 80's. I know they are very abuse proof, but perhaps you can chew the shit out of one tablet so it releases all 80mg at once orally, but im not sure of the time released mechanism

^ Keep in mind that there are 5mg and 10mg percocets (7.5's too I believe, but they are less common), so you can't just say that an 80 is equal to 16 percocets. Personally I find 20mg of oxycodone to be equal to around 30-35mg of hydrocodone, but that is instant release.

If you are taking 150mg of hydrocodone a day then one OP 80 won't get you high, but should keep you from withdrawing. You should just take the suboxone though if you want to quit since the extended release formulation of the OxyContin will complicate things when it comes to waiting to dose the suboxone after your last dose of OC.

One last thing. You really need to be doing a Cold Water Extraction on those vicodin pills since the amount of APAP in 20 pills is toxic. So I say skip the OxyContin and wait 24 hours or so after your last dose of hydrocodone and take 2mg of suboxone sublingually, and increase by 1mg every 1.5 hours until the withdrawals go away. From there you can taper down your dose to detox off of opioids.
