New to New Orleans/ What's the Scene Like?

Hello,

I just moved to NO from NYC, previously lived in Baltimore. My recreational uses include Marijuana and the occasional Molly. I am also interested in Peyote/Mescaline/DMT

I've been here for around a week and have met only my coworkers (zzz)...

So what's the scene like?

I know the dope scene is poppin down there, i just saw a documentary on nat geo channel about it. Im guessing they hang around bourbon street, i would talk to the the homeless or street performers.

I went down to the big easy for a two week bindge for 3/11 day
It was easy to pick up, hit up the bars/stripclubs on Bourbon Street
or walk the side streets off Bourbon street, look for the "hood looking client inside"
I was offered, crack,cocaine,heroin,pressed mdma which really was methbombs and some weed too
It took me 24 hours to score, I kept buying the rolls
and flipping them to other people who went down for the 3/11 event
making my trip cost/expediences free...

If you dont have that thing in you where you can seek out the drugs
ask the homeless,hookers,stripper,taxi drivers and they can point you in the right direction
but i recommend going towards the end of Bourbon street which is the more "gethoo" area of that street
if that falls through than take some side streets, but know its really fucking hood so if you cant keep up, keep out the side streets

also do not expect to find a huge scene of trippy drugs other than meth
 
The DEA is all over Bourbon Street. I went to a gay bar, and the guy next to me admitted he was a narc. How annoying.
 
i know its a lil late but hitting streets around bourbon is a quick way to get robbed. hit up the few projects left in nola. they aren't hard to find.
 
I've heard that it's really dangerous down there, so be careful. I would stick to safer areas and look for users rather than going into the ghetto and looking for dealers, but that's just me.
 
I'm about to visit NOLA. Wondering if it's at al safe for a woman to be looking down there bc I want to have a good time? Anyone have any tips?
 
every weekend theres a farmers market that sells everything from mardigras type beads(different shapes etc) and heroin and soft.
i never lable coke as coke or blow, i use the word soft. 'like hey bro,wheres the soft @' and no im not asking a homeless guy. you can sometimes tell by the look in their eye when they are selling you some bumfuck voodoo doll.
iduno, b a judge of character. i wouldn't go lookin for narcs, go look for drugs.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT buy drugs in the french quarter! First, cops everywhere. The guy you think is a dealer is probably a cop. Second, you'll pay tourist prices if you do get the right guy. Third, they think they'll never see you again, so its going to be shit no matter what.Check out the other side of the CBD (other side of highway 90 that goes across the MS river). I live in nola myself, btw. Welcome to the big easy! :)
 
I lived in Baton Rouge for 5 years, but was in NOLA every other weekend. The scene is easy but cut throat. There's a ton of good dope but there is a ton of poverty. Most dealers are smart and if they think you'll come back they'll give you great deals. You have to watch out for the ones trying to rip you off and violence, they have tons of guns there.
without getting to specific, right outside the French quarter, the lower 9th, the 14th and the 5th ward, easy as cake.
The cops know what's up though so be careful when you go there.

And for public safety, STAY OUT OF THE PROJECTS. Just don't go pick up in the actual projects, meet outside of them.

I went on a cruise out of NOLA a couple years ago. I didn't look there but in Cozumel I bought some from a guy selling Cuban cigars. He even gave me a pipe. Really cool experience
