New to Needles - Insulin Needles and Pulling Air?

It'll heal. It looks like general bruising mixed with a bit of phlebitis.

I'm guessing it was caused by bad technique and reusing needles...

Be careful, you'll blow through your veins in no time if you keep that up.

I think I blew two veins right next to each other, and the blood spread apart between them then, spread a bit more. But I don't think it's bleeding more, it stopped that, then starting turning to this color.

As long as it heals itself over time, I'm good. I just dont want an infection coming of that, or a permanent scar.

thats my old arm, 2-3 days ago. All of my arm this is discolored, and the lightly blue/green discolored is all now dark red/purple in odd shapes.

^^Could be many diff. things. My bet is that it was "re-rocked."
When you rerock cocaine your talkin crack. which is much more a pain in the ass to shoot than regular coke.

Holy fuck!

That's nasty, never seen anything that bad in person.

Good work with making an educated decision to stop using :) If that's the results with healthy veins, you don't want to see what happens down the track.

Yeah scolll up posts to my other question. I need a cure/ dignosis for this. 2 veins in a v shape, I pierced both too far, and it started swelling, then spread blood between both of them. That arm shot is when it was looking fairly good.

Now it has some starburst design of deep red, but no pain. And it's split up in lines almost from the center. God I'll take a pic tomorrow as well to show you guys.

Any hints on how to handle/take care of/go to doctor about that though :)

BTW not addicted. When this thread started to now, I've injected 5-6 times. The last shot made me quit. It's just not my thing.

I'll admit I'm snorting it and am high as a Georgia pine right now.

But I really would like some harm reduction research/posting, I'm trying to

Where I am from, it is common to "re-rock" cocaine utilizing; among other things, acetone. I don't have any idea if that's the case here, but that's my best guess. I wouldn't shoot it. Try a quick search, and check the OD archives....I can remember a few posts regarding what we're speaking about...

When I did shoot, I never shot this acetone shit. She's shooting another right now, if it fucks up more shes done.

Bump so my question can be answered, it's turning all the blue into that dark dark red, maybe that's it healing, I dunno you didn't tell me :P

Just wanna know about my injury, I have a link a few post back but its much worse now. All that blue on the pic is in dark dark red lines.

Basically I wanna know if I should go, to hospital, to doctor, or let it heal itself (and how to do so) is what I'm wanting to know

dont use your lighter when u prep a coke shot. just stir it up until it dissolves. yeah make sure you arent going to miss. i have only missed once in my life, right when i was starting out. and it really isnt hard to not miss if you have decent veins, but make sure your read up really well and whatnot before you shoot coke, i would def start out with a diff drug

Angle is what was fucking up my shots when I first started. 10-15 degrees sounds about right to me. I too made the mistake of reusing the same needle like 5-6 times trying to get it to register and I couldn't. It's frustrating. But my last few shots were so clean and on the first go... wonderful :)

that was my arm 3-4 days ago ish. The last time I injected.

Now that whole area, even the light blue (which was darker at the time of the pic) has turned dark dark red, in little shapes like rectangles from a center point it looks like.

I pierced my vein, and went all the way through. Pulled out, and it immediately and started swelling. I shot right next to it in another vein (shaped like a V, hit both sides) and the same thing happened. Over the next 2 days it bled under my skin at a fast rate, stopped, then started changing colors. It may be a coincidence that the blood turned that color and shape all from one point, but I just wanna know if I can cure this, will it go away over time, do I need to see a doctor? What signs should I be looking out for on this injury to show when it may be infected. Stuff like that man, this is harm reduction, well you did your job. I'm off needles now but I'd like to fix this nasty ass possibly "harmful" thing on my arm from that last needle.

if you a worried about it go to the urgent care

dont worry you wont get in trouble

you arm is worth it dont risk it

to me it just sounds like a bruise but i am not there to see it

Why WOULDN'T you go to the doctor, are you stupid? It's not like that's what they're there for :\

Looks to me just like bruising. Occurs when you miss a large portion of a shot, especially with cocaine...

Apply pressure - I'd wrap it in an ACE bandage pretty tightly when you can (like at night) and apply lotion to it.

It should be okay within a week. If it gets dramatically worse quickly, like in a day, then see a doctor. Otherwise I wouldn't do much about it.

As for seeing a doctor, you just say you can't afford it because you don't care. Which is fine. But anyone can afford a doctor in America, and in emergencies they will be forced to see you.

I didn't shoot. I stuck the needle in, pierced too far, through the vein, and pulled out. It immediatly started swelling up, so I tried more carefully in the next vein like an inch and a half away from it, and made the same mistake, same result. Then I shot in a different vein far away and got a successful shot there.

The picture you have is my two busted veins leaking blood. And that has now changed color, spread, and all that color there (the first picture was 2 days after trying those areas) is now dark red if not purple.

As for the doc, I really can't afford one. I'm 18, no job, uninsured at the moment, if I am insured (though they told me they dropped this) it would be under my dads name from his company, so all bills would go straight to him, and he'd have to know about my IV drug use.

Is there any doctor place or hospital that can just evaluate and tell me exactly what it is,how to fix it, if I can fix it on my own, without fixing it, all for free? Would just be a quick trip to a nurse really.

this dark purple/red doesn't hurt, unless I pinch it. If I press down on it it hurts also.

Advise? Pic tomorrow on it now

Yea just bruising there buddy. Apply pressure with an ACE bandage and apply lotion.

The ER. It may not be free, but they will have to help you and will work it out with you. They may do something with your dad or it may be expensive.

Nothing is free in this world, and if you think that maybe universal health insurance would fix it, it wouldn't. You pay one way or another.

Since you didn't actually shoot in that spot you could just tell the doctor's you got pierced by a thin nail or something.

All you have is slight internal bleeding from the veins though. You need to wrap it up tightly with an ACE bandage and apply lotion. Taking vitamin C would help too.

Through years of experience with injecting drugs IV I have determined that for me the most effective syringe is the Ultra-fine 1/2 cc insulin needle with the SHORT tip. This make is much easier to not go completely through the vein, and seemed to give me more control of the apparatus.

I don't shoot anything anymore, due to years of turmoil and chaos, but from what I recollect that was always my best bet to finding the mark every time.

(only drawback to the smaller syringe was if I was shooting serious amounts of tar heroin instead of powdered. Then the 1cc was sometimes needed to provide some extra water)

BE CAREFUL.. and if the bruise on your arm starts getting raised or swollen you may want to go straight to the doctor.

it's not good for your vein to reuse needles, supposedly even once, but i say 1-4 times is ok.

This is really just not a good thing to say. It's contradictory and just not true. I'm not only talking about the quoted person, it gets said too frequently around here.

Using a needle more than once will damage your veins and other tissue PERIOD.

They are made to be used once and dull a lot after the first use.

Yes, people do use them more than once, but they should be aware of the damage they are causing.

It seems eaiser to manipulate a needle once you rinse all the lube out. It kinnda makes them "pop" when there in, ya know. My faves are 1cc BD 28.1/2g insulin syringes

Mr Steak- are you sure you don't have a bleeding disorder? From the pictures, it looks like you have quite a lot of bleeding going on for one or two needle sticks!

My blood doesn't clot, so i know how bad that can look and that is what your arm reminds me of. I saw one pic in your links, and from that pic it looks like it is all bleeding under the skin, it does not look infected FROM THE PICTURE.

If it is hot, you have a fever, or if you see red streaks moving away from the stick - get to a doc immediately. I don't know where you are, but there have been quite a few mrsa cases in the last few months.

I would also think about getting a doc to look at your health in general - you look like you have a clotting problem. Do you always bruise that easily? Do you bleed from other areas - teeth or other places? If so, get someone to find out what the problem is. If you know what it is, it can be taken care of easily - but it's not the thing you want a doc to find out about after you've been in a serious accident and are bleeding heavily!

In a way I agree with you, and in others I strongly disagree.

TR - I think you made a lot of good points here. The style is definitely a lot different. I don't think the moderation is as "tough" as it used to be. I think some people miss that part of it. You also have a point about people being more educated now, and I agree this site is responsible for a lot of that knowledge.

One thing that people could do that would really make a big difference and would help the staff would be to not disrupt threads to comment on whether the post belongs in a certain forum or if the OP should have searched or whatever the complaint. From what I see it leads to more flaming and arguing than just about any other thing. If you think someone has posted something against the guidelines, report it and move on. It will be seen faster than if you just post a comment and it will reduce stupid arguing.

That's just my thought after the short time I've been doing this. It seems like most of the problem posts are because someone decided to make this type of a comment, then someone else has to say shut up, and so on.

It may be "easier" for you to use, but you are risking getting bacteria in the shot. To me, that's not worth it. It's bad enough when people only have cotton to filter with, at least then the volume is minimal. If you're rinsing with water though, you're increasing the amount of water the barrel is exposed to and exposing the barrel to everything in the environment you're shooting in - if you're shooting in a bathroom there's lots of nasty shit flying around in there!

If you have sterile water or saline and aren't pulling out the barrel, you would reduce a lot of the risk - but I don't think this is a good idea. There are too many abx resistant bugs floating around right now.
