Howdy Gene.
In my many rehab stints (for booze; I screamed about all my other addictions on the car ride) the benzo addicts seemed to have it the worst. They thankfully didn't come in covered in their own poop and vomit like the heroin kids, but there just weren't any pills for them, and you can't quit cold without all the seizures and death risk. Oh and the crippling all-consuming horror of GABA gone missing. I figure the slow steady disciplined taper must be the hardest, because I've never managed it with any substance.
I checked around because I'd never heard of bromazepam before (turns out I forgot about Bromax or whatever) and it looks like 1.5mg is already the lowest dose possible, and you take two a day?. Before I give you grief about that, you can buy little manufactured pill choppers in US drugstores or online, and I know ones can handle tiny pills to 1/4 length at least, as I imagine a 1.5mg pill would be. Too tiny to X-acto with the precision you'd need.
OR--and I swear I stopped by cause no one had yet and I wanted to share the no-pills for benzos story, not to make fun--I'm not even a TV doctor, but unless I missed the part about FOR ELEPHANTS ONLY you could probably just quit cold tomorrow.
Then again, maybe you'll never sleep again without them. I'm not one to challenge a person's need for sleep or the desperation of not getting it. Finding a substitute involves experiments and millions of articles online that are no help. [NB: I NOTICED WHEN LOOKING UP YOUR MED DON'T TAKE IT WITH BENADRYL/diphenhydramine]
Before I get sent to bed for talking too much, I'll say: for me, two lowest-dose Xanax involves less sensation than the corpse pose, so I can't help you with a yoga recommendation; since I'm currently abusing stimulants, I think of sex regularly, and remember that when I used to have it, it could knock me right out.
