So my doctor just put me on 25mcg/hr fentanyl patch it's duragesic, box says PriCara. I'm totally new to Fent but not opioids as had many surgeries. I've been on norco for awhile and use between 80-100 mg daily 10/325. So my question is yes I love being high from the opoids, but I do really want to get off them eventually, even though I do have legitimite pain,I really am tired of being a slave to refills. Is fent much harder to withdrawal from than say oxy and norco? I wore my first patch for 5 hrs and took it off, wondering if I really know what Im getting my self into. I'm very responsible with my medication and fent was suggested by docotor after i suggested he bump me up to 10/325 perc's. So I did get very good buzz from just 5 hrs, maybe cuz its my first time besides surgical. Any advice ,my fiance says well ur already addicted and gonna withdrawal from norcos and you need pain meds, but im not quite sure Im ready to take this gian t leap, any advise?

W/d from a bad fent habit will be ANYTHING but a walk in the park. We're not here to help you abuse your meds. The capt'n advice is very sound.

Agreed^

I just wanna second Capt'n again - Use your doctor as you have been. He/She is going to be an awesome resource for ya (as I hope you've already experienced). Any issues with your meds, especially if the fent is more than you need, is best discussed frankly with them. I don't mean to come off as insensitive or a dick. I'm just tired :\

I see,I am a far cry from abusing them,if getting a buzz from using as directed is abuse then I guess the whole world is abusers. My point is yes I have developed a tolerance to norcos,so I do take more than recommended(discussed with dr)hence fentanyl. Just im seeing the starting point of what might be a long road on the fentanyl brick road and wondered what others had to say who've traveled that road already and had some hindsight.

And ty for your awnsers all.

Awesome, you've got exactly the perspective you need to have right now! Very refreshing to see someone with a good head on their shoulders :) Yes, you very much are at a crossroads. Step lightly, as you are, and I have a good feeling you'll end up all right.
