Wasn't sure where to post this, I looked through the index and didn't really see anywhere it might fit. Im currently under a doctors care from a car accident several years ago. I broke my back and had an emergency spinal fusion. I did real well for about 10 years and the last three my back just gave out. I have always had very physically demanding jobs so now im seeking disability. Im very interested in trying natural things in my pain treatment. I have a very little experience with herbs and I need more. Ive used with some success for relaxation and pain relief: catnip, damiana, passion flower and skullcap.

The question I have is what else could be used for pain and depression and anxiety relief??

any help is appreciated

Peace

I did manage to procure cannabis oil, forgot to mention that one. I haven't had kava im interested in it though. And I just got in some kratom today from green leaf kratom, great company btw. I have the red Sumatra and bentuangie. I took about 7 grams of the red Sumatra and the first 30 minutes were awesome, and now the relaxation, sedation is kicking in and im liking it pretty well too. Its seems quite similar to a hydrocodone ride. Maybe that's just me but that is the way it feels so far. im waaay relaxed and just feel pretty nice right now. I think I may try a lower dose of it tonight though.

What is the Kava like?? Is it about the same as kratom or no??

Thanks for the recommendations

Peace

Tim

St. John's Wort Oil and cayenne oil together are excellent for topical paint relief. Since both are hard to come by in stores, you'll probably have to make your own. It's not terribly difficult, you just need to find SJW when it's in flower and pick a bunch of the yellow flowers. Put them in a mason jar in a 2:1 oil:flower ratio (almond oil is always nice) and put on a sunny windowsil to sit for 1 month. It will turn a deep, dark blood red. Strain, squeeze to get all the oil out, and then you're good to go.

For cayenne... just buy fresh ones, chop them up and let them dry out. Then do the same thing with the oil.

Combine the two oils equally. You can use the oil straight, or if you want to thicken it you can buy a beeswax candle and add some wax to the *gently* heated oil to make into a salve. (If it comes to a boil the medicine is lost.)

Add about 400 IU of vitamin E per liter of oil to preserve it for up to 5 years. Store in a cool, dark place.

Another thing you can do is take fresh cayenne, chop it up, and put it into high proof alcohol (at least 85 percent) in a 2:1 alcohol:cayenne ratio (or even 1:1 if you want killer strong). After 30 days it becomes a cayenne liniment. When applied topically it seeps right through the skin barrier and goes deep for pain relief.

You can always just google something with cayenne and SJW to use, but IME they will always be inferior to the home made stuff.

SJW tincture tends to be good for sciatic and lower back pain, but I don't know about over all pain.

Thanks for recommendations. I've got some Kratom now. Looking for a source of kava. Sjw and blue lotus extract I hadn't thought of though.

I'm pretty sure we aren't allowed to give out sources on this site but since kava goes more by types than brands, i guess i can still say this without breaking the "no sourcing" rule of the site. You can find them pretty easily on google with the names as well.

But with kava, it really depends more for what you're going for but here are a few of my personal recommendations.

If you're going for great social anxiety relief but want to be able to function around other people without acting different, i would probably go with Kona Kava. That's what i used in high school all the time and nobody ever noticed but it's not what you want if you're trying to get rid of any pain or feel a lot of effects. More subtle but nice at the same time.

If you're looking more for a mind buzz and total anxiety relief, i'd go more towards Stone Kava. It's much more noticable and good for social events (friends coming over mainly) but i wouldn't recommend driving or going to school/work on it.

And if you want a really stoned body-buzz type kava that's good for pain relief and relaxing at night, i'd go more towards the "WOW!" brand Kava. I wouldn't recommend it if you're going out at all though and don't even think about stepping in a car after a cup of that.

Thanks. I'd been reading up on those very brands. This will go a long way to helping me find what I'm looking for.

I ordered some Kava this afternoon ended up going with the "WOW" should be here Monday cant wait to try it. I ordered the powder and the straining cloths. I figure I don't mind to make a mess if the end justifies the means and I think it will. Also figured Id jump in the deep end and get my feet wet and start "paying my dues" so to speak. Thanks for all the help with this though.

kava will probably be a little of a let down.... its hard to get the really dank stuff..... Kanna which is just a lot more cutting edge recently discovered, as long as its fermented; will def make the kava way way more noticeable... anything herbal mixed with kanna is enhanced like 10x it seems to me... .my favorite blend is Kava , kanna, and a nice blend of danky kratoms... I call it the "new KKK' blend

I'm actually thinking of trying that blend you speak of. Kava actually didn't let me down about an hour after I drunk it, it was like somebody pulled the floor out from under me lol. In all fairness though I got a pretty potent brand and I did make it really strong. The kava really my doors off. But thanks for the blend though. I will prolly give it a go.
