Opioids New Reformulated Vicodin 10/300s?

I will. I really want to, because I'm at a loss as to understand why she would have thought this was acceptable, unless she just wasn't thinking it through. I think if she understands how awfully this impacted me, she'll be horrified. She really is an awesome doctor and human being.

Again, thank you. I'll let you know how it goes.

Pleasure, hope you get your pain under control, I know what you're going through!

I can't believe your doc would even put you on that much APAP if she is aware that you have a truly serious liver disease much less offer you even more as you said.

And I'm not quite sure I understand about the CWE hydro causing you to feel different. (Paranoid?) than the whole pills. You are still just getting hydro whether you take the whole thing or take the product of the CWE (minus the ApAP of course).

Also, everyone is different, but at a point in the past when I used to be RXd hydrocodone, I averaged much more per day than 12 or 14 (extracted of course) and i wouldn't take take 8mg of dilaudid and not feel it. I think that it just definitely doesn't give you the same high that hydros do. They never made me feel as good as the hydros. I think that is the difference you are feeling.

Again, my doctor only prescribed me 2000 grams a day of APAP -- I have been taking more than that on my own. I'm not sure how many times I have to say that. And, I'm sorry, but I'm not wasting any of my norco on a rough CWE extraction, where you lose as much hydrocodone as you get. Just not interested. I did it with 250 Mallies because I couldn't take the Mallies anyway, but I'm not wasting any of my qualitest norcos on that process. I don't know what you want me to say about the reaction I got from the extracted mallies. It is what it is.

You're probably right that I didn't like the high from dilaudid. But that wasn't what concerned me. It was the pressure on my chest and the difficulty breathing I had with it that makes me wary of using it. Same is true of any of the morphones.

Hope that answers your questions.

Hey Morphling! Okay, I saw my doctor today, and she agreed that the APAP levels are a problem. I think she said that she was going to give me a prescription for pain without APAP. Anyway, she gave me a prescription for "20 mg oxycodone, 20-30mg every six hours, as needed." So all's well, right? I happily trot off to the pharmacy to have the prescription filled and that's where things get a little weird.

My pharmacist looks at the prescription and his jaw literally dropped. He looks at me and says, "Is this immediate release?" I'm like, 'Uh, I don't know. What does it say?" He didn't even answer me; just started messing with his computer, then looks up and says, "I have to order this. I can't get it until next week." I asked if there were any other pharmacies that might have it in stock and he looks at me like I'm a little slow on the uptake, and says, "you'd have to take this to a hospital pharmacy, is my guess. They're the only ones who might have this in stock. I didn't even know they made this medication in this dosage, I've never seen a prescription for this, and I had to check to make sure that they actually manufacture it." So, after some back and forth, we agree that I'll pick it up next week. My pharmacist, like my doctor, is not concerned that 3-4 days of 5000 mg plus APAP per day is going to damage my liver, even with my existing issues.

So, now my question is: what is so weird about this prescription? Should I be taking some kind of extended release? The pharmacist made me feel really weird about the prescription ... not weird enough to not pick it up and take it, but a little odd, nonetheless.
