New poster long term looked (methadone reducing)
Hi I've loved the info on here for some time and am about to Finish my methadone tapper and would like to document it to aid myself with advice from members and perhaps help others in the future.
My situation. Quit opiates 9 years ago using a methadone reduction and had 7 years clean. Than due to some RL upsets I doing opiate use once more via the dark net and become the proverbial kid in a candy store about 2 years ago. Started using lots of valium and the ordered crack and heroin, opium and various RC`s.
So over the past 2 months I managed to get my anxiety under control using scripted methadone (35mg) daily and a script for Mirtazapine (15mg) daily and quit using benzodiazepines and anything else. Stopped heroin IV and smocked .1 a week on foil until 2 weeks ago.
Quit the Mirtazapine 18 days ago with no rebound syndrome and tappered my methadone to 13 mg per day.
Eating well, getting out and about ok, taking relaxation classes twice a week and most importantly I have no anxiety and sleep 7 hours per night without issue.
So I feel ready to quit the methadone so I can get back to work and start seeing my kids and leading a normal life once more. As anyone who has tappered before knows, the next month is where the test comes and to aid myself I am going to use some short turn meds to aid the process.
Here is my plan: tapper methadone at 1mg/ml per day and take an extra 2 or 3 days at 10 and then at 5mg/ml. From 10 (this Friday) I will introduce valium @ 5mg 3 times per day and increase after 2 weeks when I'm down below 5 and about to reach zero. Will increrse to a max of 30 mg per day and tapper after a week on the higher dose and make sure I use for a max of 28 days.
Indica hash: with high cbd content to facilitate sleep and aid any pain.
Imodium as required but not to much as it contains an opiate.
Multi vitamins with iron and protein shakes.
And lastly: either some provigil or low dose amphetamine during the day to help with energy crash.
All the meds are for opiate detox only and will not be used after 28 days. The provigil/amphetamine will not be used everyday but I do plan on job hunting so it makes sense.
If I suffer from leg pains or RLS
I shall consider using gabapentin.
Any feed back would be nice and I will most likely move this via a copy and paste to a more on topic thread in a couple of days.
Thanks for looking
