Howdy all . I live in the San Francisco bay area and I'm 55 yrs. old. I guess I'm looking for a place to vent . In my teens i started using one form of speed or the other (cross top whites/ black beauties / dexy's) and have used meth steadily for the past 30 yrs. The last 10 on a daily basis. I hold down a steady job and pay my bills. I dont have many friends because I'm not comfortable with the cranksters lifestyle. I realize I'm running out of time but I dont know that I'll ever be able to give it up. Perhaps I got something to offer to younger people , as far as meth goes I've seen the Good Bad and Ugly. I've been a lurker here for a while. I appreciate your site. Hope I didnt ramble to much.

Thanks

First....Welcome to the forms! :)

I've heard of people attempting to self-medicate with meth before, but I have never heard one successful story of someone actually being able to hold down a job and keep a house while they have a meth habit - so good on ya for having the self-control to be able to do that!

On the other hand however, you say you don't have friends and I'm assuming you're not married - which you say is all a consequence of meth use. That's understandable and if you're fine with being a loner that's you're choice, however, you have been unsuccessful in that aspect of your life.

Anyways, meth can be pretty awful. Have you ever thought of going to a doctor, explaining your situation, and asking for something that is a lot less detrimental to your health? A stimulant med such as Adderall, Ritalin, or maybe even Desoxyn (pharmaceutical Methamphetamine) might do you a lot of good.

Welcome to Bl. I used meth for 7 years straight and was a functioning addict but finally gave that up 10 yrs ago. It screwed up my brain chemistry for awhile. I do miss it but don't want to go there again. Good to have you here and share your experiences.
