Hi! I just joined and was wondering how safe are opiates? Like, I just took 3, 3604 v 5mg Hydrocodone/325 acetaminophen. I made sure I didn't go over the dose of 1000mg acetaminophen and got 15mg dose of hydro. I have a deep relaxed feeling right now and it's like my 4th time ever. I started about 5-6 months ago. Would my liver be fine if I do it occasionally? I've read that the Max daily dose of acetaminophen is 4000mg. Is this true? And is it safe to smoke weed with it?

They won't hurt you at that dosage. I have take 60 mg (3 20 mg oxycodone XR) and it did nothing but make me vomit... I WOULDNT SUGGEST TAKING YOUR DOSAGE ANY HIGHER... ESPECIALLY IF YOURE NEW TO OPIATES. ALSO, WITHDRAWALS FROM BENZOS AND OPIATES ARE WORSE THAN DEATH. BE CAREFUL!

Regarding acetaminophen, the max recommended dose is now 3000mg per day but to be frank, this is a function of people being poor label readers and unknowingly dosing multiple Rx and OTC drugs containing APAP, often parents to their children. Along with the lower daily dosage, there was a campaign to improve labels and educate patients (clear notation that product X contains APAP, standardization of amount of APAP in certain products, literature in doctors offices and pharmacies, etc.).

For most, it would take greater than 3 to 4 grams to cause liver failure but there have been cases of it in that range. It is a risk.

And yeah, beware the powers of opiates. I love them too, but once you start, its hard to resist them.

If you're really concerned with taking the APAP I would recommend a cold water extraction, it's really simple and there's plenty of info on it. Your dose of opiates isn't dangerous now but it could make you tempted to take higher and higher doses or switch to a more dangerous drug. Just be responsible, opiates of any kind are very addictive.
