Hi everyone. I have been using this site for a long time to gather info about the drugs I have taken and are still currently on. My life completely changed 2 years ago when I got a MRSA infection from a botched spinal fusion. In short, I ended up in bed for over 8 months from the infection and them slowly removing the infected hardware in my spine. I have never felt such pain! I was put on gabapentin, fentanyl patches, dulaudid, Soma, Demerol, Oxycodone for a short while, and other various drugs. I had 4 more surgeries within one year. MRSA ate two of my vertabrae, and now rods and screws hold my back together.
The first pain killer I got off of was Fentanyl. It took a long time, but I tapered off, using 25 mcg. less every month until I reached 25, then cut those in half. I had already started decreasing Dulaudid, but upped it again during the last stages of the taper. Its been 2 months since I used Fentanyl. Now I am tapering off Dulaudid, coming down 2 mg every month. Right now I take 2mg every 12 hours. I have cut my Gabapentin by 800 mg, though I had not taken 3200 mgs daily for very long. Now I take 2400 mg daily. In another month I plan to knock it down to 1800 mg a month and so on.
I found a,more natural cure for my pain that also promotes bone growth, helps with my PTSD, depression and insomnia. Too bad its only legal in 23 states.
I love Bluelight because all of you are very open about the info you share, the drugs you take and the effects of your withdrawal. So thank you for that.
My goal is to come off all the pharmaceuticals and never walk in a doctor's office again. I will never go to another pain clinic either! I will not be treated like a criminal because I have chronic pain. Too many horror stories, too much regulation from lawmakers who don't know what they are talking about. I am just over it all.
