New Member, waiting on appt as New patient at Methadone clinic

Hey, I'm new to blue light. I have been dependent on prescription opiods for about 5 years. I had a terrible ankle break requiring surgery. I still have pain, but I think I can live with it. I am unable to get a script, therefore I buy it off the streets. I am piss poor due to my habit. I just scheduled an initial appointment to my local methadone clinic. I'm hoping they can help me taper off this shit. Can someone please tell me what to expect at my first appointment? Will they dose me and help me through the terrible withdrawals? I am just so scared. Thank you in advance for any responses.
 
Thank you. I just got home from my assessment, and shit I was sooooo fucking emotional! I cried while talking to my councellor. I am thrilled to be here, so I can seek advice from others who've been thru it, and to share my experiencse with others who understand. Hope y'all have a wonderful Wednesday!
 
hi there Gozllnchick..I've been on methadone (JUICE)off and on for over 30 years,my second kid was born with a methadone habit from me..Juice is all good if you really wanna get rid of the daily grind,trying to score and being dead ass broke,dodge the popo and getting back into the workforce..you didnt mention if you were on just a 30 detox or maintenance,but juice works fine with both,I mean you can always switch over to maintaince if you think you need it..being dope sick is not fun,and I dont wish (sometimes I do to my resource)being sick on anyone..whether its any opiates,street or legal,it still has you by the balls..meaning you gotta work your way up the ladder to getting takehomes,or filling a script every 30 days..you really cant plan on going anywheres because of your opiate dependance..Im sure you're feeling alot better,both physically and mentally now..im glad you are..
 
I wasn't clear that I could do a detox with methadone and got up to 80mg in 2 months. I found out I have bone cysts on my ankle and need surgery, sooner than later to remove them and have a bone graft. 6 weeks, non weight bearing, 3 month total recovery. I will not be able to go to the clinic everyday so I told my counsellor I need get off the done ASAP. he seems to be dropping the ball about cutting my doses. I'm freaking out because I don't want my surgeon to know I've been on MMT (only for 2 months) and he wants to do the surgery beginning of March. Freaking out.....
 
your first appointment may just be for paperwork, with a sick-intake to follow the next day, or a few days later. if they didnt tell you to come in sick, you probably wont be getting dosed that day. just be patient , you'll be feeling better when you get your dose. be advised that most clinics dont go above 30 or 40mg on the first day.
