Four days ago I admitted to my family and my girlfriend of 10 years that I had an opiate addiction (heroin intake through snorting) this addIction started recreationally about 2-5 bags a week until I was up to a bundle (10 bags) in a 24hr period) if I went 8 hrs I would start freaking out and start w/d'ing. I had had enough of my lifestyle and after doing tons and tons of research Over the past week I'd had enough I needed help and still need help I did NOT want to do inpatient or rehab so Wednesday one of my co-workers introduced me to suboxone (film form) which I took a 1/4 on Wednesday morning after 12 hrs of withdrawing about 17 hrs total. After an hour all cravings were gone and my w/d symptoms also. Yesterday Friday I went to a doctor that dealt with suboxone and she prescribed me 5 film strips and clonidine for 10 days so $120 dollars and $60 dollars later all said n done I'm on my way to recovery I would just be interested in support apart from my family and gf whom I live with and she is sticking with me through this, any support or success stories would be awesome, my doctor would like to wean me off suboxone in the next couPle months sorry for long first post
