New Jorbs

started this roofing gig. fucking TOUGH man. 10-14 hour days on the regular, lots of manual labor, shoveling roofing shit into buckets, big ass 30-40lb pry bars for like 5 to 7 hours. I tell you what if this kinda shit doesn't make a man outta you nothing will. looks like I'll be doing this for about 6-8 weeks. but at $29.85 an hour and every hour over 8 in a day is time and a half, so $44.78/hr. so believe that I'm stackin that paper right now. if my calculations are correct I should make about $10k in this 8 week period.

look at me now, look at me now. I'm gettin paperrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

unfortunately I won't be awake to enjoy it until after the work is done cause this shit is tiring as a motherfucker. lol

Relaxing after a hard day working with one's hands is one of life's great joys. I worked for several years as an Excavating Laborer (Local 731 NYC), pushing wheelbarrows full of wet cement 12 hours a day, seven days a week the last 6 years. Now I have 119 laborers working for me (me and my inlaws) and I actually miss the dirt. Here I can't drive one of our trucks because of the culture and our place in it as land owners. Sounds like you recognise that manual labour can be very fufilling.

Working so much as to not have time to spend one's wages can certainly be a boon too. Having savings is vital to financial security; I like to keep a one paycheque buffer in my account to cover unforseen costs and to make up for the fact that I'm paid in paper cheques but most of my bills are withdrawn automatically.

Hard labour is truly honest work, and honourable as all hell. Life's going well for you, and that makes me glad!
