also it is a tendency of the ERs to assume everyone is on drugs and trying to scam drugs. when i was way younger, (had only recently just tried coke ), i went to the ER with severe chest pain and referred pain to my lower back, every time i took a breath or spoke( i have a high pain tolerance and even a slight affinity for it, and to this day thats the only time i've hit a 10 on the 'scale of 1 to 10' pain assessment), and for 6 hours they refused to treat me until i would "admit how much meth i did" and "tell them how long i;ve been pregnant" (i was a virgin still

and i know now that my town has never had a meth problem.), and got lectured about the dangers of teen pregnancy, crystal meth, and crystal meth on fetuses. then they finally ran the urine sample and realized my pulse was so fast and i was in so much pain because of a legitimate and serious reason (never mind that if i WAS pregnant and on meth, i could have been having a heart attack for 2)
