Hey all, my story is quite extensive but I'll summarize and won't go "onenonenon" (twelve step prgm for those who talk too much) I've had a total of seven back surgeries for fusions at L4-5/ L5-S1. The first attempt by the first Doc. Failed leaving me with the dreaded failed back syndrome, something I would not wish on my worst enemy. The fix with a new Doc that in retrospect I should have gone to first, had to perform four procedures over the period of two weeks that I was in the hospital. Two through my back and two through my abdomen. Long story short, it was a total nightmare. They couldn't control my post-op pain with morphine, dilaudid of fentanyl, they kept losing my respirations and would have to give me narcan and start all over. Several months later following the hardware extraction, when I got home a day later almost every staple popped out of my incision site. I/ they didn't get me to emergency surgery in time to close this two by six by two inch deep hole in my back so it became "flora inoculated and had to heal open frrom the inside out. Ohhh gosh, meds meds meds, yes lots of them for years now, i've been through and 'round the med mill., vicodin, norco, oxycontin, oxycodone, methadone, dilaudid, morphine, fentanyl patch, and a couple others I can't recall. On top of all those I am also on effexor xr, depakote, and seroquel for my bipolar disorder. Sometimes I feel like that entire span of years during all the surgeries and pain are kind of, well just missing from my life and memory, I don’t like it at all. That's all for now I'm getting tired of typing on this little keyboard on my droid, I'll write a little bit more later, thanks all.
