Glad to see the search engine has finally been fixed! Just two suggestions:

One, the box is a wee bit big--Half the size and centered would suffice, I would think. :)

Two, have you considered using an alternate search engine that does not log IP addresses with their searches? I personally use Startpage, which is powered by Ixquick, but provides Google search results.

I used it and enjoy it but maybe focus on putting it in more SMOOTH location rather than the awkward header form.

Yeah, I have used it and it seems to work well, but I agree it is pretty obnoxiously large and right in your face with its location.
Also, I'm not too sure about the whole logging of the IP address thing, but yes I am a little worried about Google as a whole, even though this search engine may be specifically tailored to this site alone, I can't help but think they're taking some sort of info from it/ watching me somehow. I may be paranoid, but afterall, it it google we're talking about

(And just in case anyone doesn't know, an IP address is sort of like your house address: It allows someone to find your approximate location.)

Tl;dr: I don't use Google for things that I'd rather not have come back to haunt me. Call me paranoid, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

We use search logs for many purposes, for example, to keep our services secure, develop new features that make search faster and more relevant, and even to predict outbreaks of disease.

Is there anyway to make the search result page match what the forums look like here instead of Eggshell White background with Bold Blue letters? It just looks too google, like some1 copypasta'd some code straight from google. Other than that I love it, makes searching for anything a LOT easier IMO.

Oh lord. Seriously. "Logging IP addresses." Huh? What website do you think does NOT log IP addresses? Every site you hit logs the IP address.

Seriously, this is why developers rage. First, you cannot edit the core part of the CSE. It's Google's search your'e using, so they brand it. You can edit the CSS partially within their settings.

As for "copypasta code," that is how you implement CSE. It's how it works. You cannot automate searches on Google other than using the CSE, because it'll get your IP banned.

The CSE looks good and it works. Jeez people. He's a volunteer. Cut him some slack FFS.
