Hi, Shay. Welcome to BL. You can use the site as you please, but I've found it especially useful when I have specific questions (about a particular drug, a particular drug interaction, etc.). There are a lot of folks here who have tons of experience. Asking for help or advice is a great way to avoid dangerous mistakes with unfamiliar substances, techniques, etc.

nope. you can send a private message (PM) without being 'friends.' only other thing: folks with new accounts (so-called greenlighters) are only allowed to send a limited number of PMs per hour. aside from that, PM away!
 
How do I send a PM? I've been trying to start one and it won't let me for some reason :'(
