Weed makes me comatose, as far as psychedelics I haven't tripped since the 70s but what I gained in knowledge over the years I realize how beneficial those times were. There is controversy about psychedelics and schizophrenia / psychosis history. I believe it's part of the whole propaganda narrative from the 1970s. That's just my belief, you are concerned that psychedelics "will just open the flood gates to a lot of bad thoughts" Did you have a bad experience with psychedelics?

No you're good...so I do take anti-psychotic meds; but long story short I was just kinda depressed right out of hs, and my parents kinda over-reacted and had me put on them. I dont really notice any difference on them so have just taken them since. I do want to try to get off of them sometime soon, as they dont have too good of an idea what they do to your chem makeup long term. So, hopefully ween off at some point.

I completely understand, I am diagnosed schizoaffective depression spectrum. I've been on antipsychotics and antidepressants since the 1970s. Only recently have I tried to come off from taking them. Last year I had a desire to trip again, however the medications I was taking prevented or inhibited my ability to trip. So I decided to do something about it by first stopping my antidepressant medication of which I did successfully without withdrawal. Last weekend I stopped taking the antipsychotic with minor complications. I also caught a bug over the weekend, coughing and sore throat with headaches. The headaches and insomnia are listed as withdrawal side effects, however sore throat and headaches still lingers but getting a better nights sleep helped with symptoms.

I don't suggest you making changes with medication until you're ready. Look at me, it took 50 years for me to come to this point in my life. Be patient with life, whatever you want or search for in life will come to you naturally by the choices you make.
 
I have been off the anti-depressant for a long while and currently take two anti-psychs; I tried kinda cold turkey a year ago and that didnt go to well, so I am just going to make a taper schedule with my doc. Shes being reluctant to do this, but its just something I'm going to have to insist on with her...Yes, even tho stims are my go-to, I feel ya on the 'take your time with life.'
 
Just noticed your location, are you in NYC? I just started a job with a guy who lived in Jersey but commuted to the city a lot for work.
 
It's nice but cold now temps are forecast at 2 degrees tomorrow night. The wind is brutal outside when we walked the dogs a few minutes ago.

I used to be in the STL, the Delmar Loop to be exact, but that was long ago. Some nice things from there: Blueberry Hill, Crown Candy for the chocolate banana malts 😵‍💫, Ted Drewes, Pratzel's Bakery. I had some fun times.
A lot of nice hiking and camping in the Ozarks
 
I'm familiar with Delmar/U City but hardly ever go there, I have a friend that lives in dogtown (near the zoo) I myself am pretty far out in west county (chesterfield area). I make it out to the Ozarks a lot (parents own a lake house there) and I like to go floating on some of the streams there too.

Yeah, excellent canoeing. Current River was a favorite of mine, but especially the Buffalo.
It's been a long time, though.

I played that for 10 minutes once. Golf, frisbee, soccer and lacrosse mixed but in a strange way.

Add beer and then it becomes more like drunken football, on a golf course and a frisbee, in a park or college campus in a strange dimension. I was drunk, and rules? what are rules?

Oh, win at all costs. But that means nothing; because it is pickleball for hippies and college stoners. You know when they all forget to bring a hacky sack.

Oh, wannabe dead heads and hippie wannabes in college. 😵‍💫😖😤😠😡🤬

Thanks, but I was trying to make it seem more action packed than shuffleboard.
