So yeah, I'm new to posting here, but have been getting great info here for a few years. I live in Southern California (OC) and have always been into doing things people said not to do or could not be done successfully, in part for the pleasure of proving them wrong. I have gotten nabbed a few times but it has never been for doing harm to anyone. I have been self employed for almost 20 years and have only had 3 jobs prior to that. I am a landscape contractor, but I build just about everything- houses from the ground up and landscapes from dirt to finish. I have also built plenty of vehicles as well. I am currently working on a 79 IH Scout, and a 79 Harley Shovelhead- which I ride regularly. Any local riders, hit me up!

In 2014 I started blowing glass and have been on the torch numerous days a week ever since. I am a long way from being a master, but I definitely have developed some skill in the past couple years. I have organized a few shows at my local brewery and am trying to develop a reputable group of artists that can one day get paid in some form or another for the show we put together, not just the art we make. If you need some custom glass you know where to look.

I'm a single father to a wonderful 12yr old daughter who becomes more amazing to me every day. I am a semi sociable guy but don't have much of a tolerance for stupidity, drama, or most people in general. I'm not all FTW, but I really value my solitary time. I'm a long way from self conscious or any kind of worried about what others think of me. I'm pretty open, so if you there is something you wanna know- just ask.

Thanks for taking the time.

Great introduction, welcome to the site :)

Strangely we don't have a glass blowing section around the site and glass (and I had to read that bit a few times before I knew you meant actual glass and not the standard glass that is talked about on here).

As you have been lurking for a few years you will already know your way around the site but, if you have any questions please feel free to ask.

It's an amazing art it always fascinates me when I see it on TV. Quite curious but how did you get into it? You sound quite skillful with building vehicles etc but how do you go from building stuff to blowing glass? If you don't mind sharing it would be nice to see some of your art work (I know that Second Opinion has an art thread).

You can check out my glass work on Instagram & Facebook if you'd like. I got into doing it because I have always wanted to and just decided to get the gear and start. I had a buddy let me mess around a bit on his torch and I kinda got hooked. It also gives me something other than building to focus my creativity into, which helps control the desire to go sit in the bell tower with a 50cal. A little wind in my face helps too.
