Hi guys, new member here from the UK.

Been lurking for a while reading posts and looking for some advice.

My back is a mess and I need pain Meds, I started like most with Codeine years ago. I then had a back operation and discovered Tramadol while in hospital. I'd never felt so good! I've been on and off them now for 10 years at one point taking 350mg a time x 3 times a day. The only thing that got me off them was the terrible Migraines they give me. So right now I'm in a bit of a quandary as I'm currently taking
200mg Tramadol day
50mg Diazepam
40mg Citlopram
100mg. Anti inflam
100mg. Topiromate (to try and failing to stop the migraines)
AND 20mg bupronorphine 7 day patch.

I'm fed up, I have a migraine at Least 3 days of the week and I know it's the Tramadol or Analgesia migraine I don't get them without it.

I've been to 3 docs at my surgery and non of them have the knowledge of what to move me on to! They admit it.

Is bupronorphine even a painkiller? I've been using it 5 years will I have horrible withdrawal from it?

I basically want off the bupronorphine patches, off the Tramadol, off the Topiromate, and want 1 good opioid painkiller that will help with the pain and a bonus would be that Tramadol happy boost:)

Sorry for talking shit, I hope you understand my points and any advice I could take to my doc on Friday would be really appreciated

Steve

Yoooo easy on the tramadol... I tried it first time today popped 150 mg had amazing nap (: slight euphoria.. But if you take over 400mg in 24 hr period you're fucked dude... Seizure central my friend..

I was 2 years ago crunching the Tramadol 400mg morning, noon and night. No buzz just to feel "normal" so 1200mg a day. I knew it had to stop and had a long tapering down. Funny thing was even when I got down to 2 a day when I stopped them I had WD again!

I fully intended to take no more, but genuinely need Meds for my back pain, Trams work well for me x 500mg a day but the headaches.....

I'm seeing the Doc tmr I'm hoping he can offer me an alternative

hi and welcome, ive had no back surgies, but have had hip replaced, tramadol is like a big tykinol, which they do nothing for me, i like percocets, easily addicted to them, but cant find a doc to give them to me, so when i get them, i hoard them, then when i know im going to over do it, i can eat atleast three, the buzz is good, and when im comming down, i pop a xanex and sleep allnight. the only bad thing is my pain seems worse the next day, so,,, i try my hardest to stay off them, but my back at times feels like a pencil snapping, i evenwalk like im 90, i also havea stressed jobfor my age(55). idont like exercize, or stretching, unless i got my pain meds in me.
