Hi guys, new member here from the UK.
Been lurking for a while reading posts and looking for some advice.
My back is a mess and I need pain Meds, I started like most with Codeine years ago. I then had a back operation and discovered Tramadol while in hospital. I'd never felt so good! I've been on and off them now for 10 years at one point taking 350mg a time x 3 times a day. The only thing that got me off them was the terrible Migraines they give me. So right now I'm in a bit of a quandary as I'm currently taking
200mg Tramadol day
50mg Diazepam
40mg Citlopram
100mg. Anti inflam
100mg. Topiromate (to try and failing to stop the migraines)
AND 20mg bupronorphine 7 day patch.
I'm fed up, I have a migraine at Least 3 days of the week and I know it's the Tramadol or Analgesia migraine I don't get them without it.
I've been to 3 docs at my surgery and non of them have the knowledge of what to move me on to! They admit it.
Is bupronorphine even a painkiller? I've been using it 5 years will I have horrible withdrawal from it?
I basically want off the bupronorphine patches, off the Tramadol, off the Topiromate, and want 1 good opioid painkiller that will help with the pain and a bonus would be that Tramadol happy boost
Sorry for talking shit, I hope you understand my points and any advice I could take to my doc on Friday would be really appreciated
Steve
