I never thought I'd get hooked. I never thought it could happen to me. Have been taking dilaudid for eons - have a chronic illness, my vessels have gone to shit & I got a PICC line a month ago. I don't know why I tried it - but I decided to crush the dilaudid, mix it w/saline & inject it in the picc. Wow! I wonder if I'd have as much trouble getting off this crap if I hadn't ever put it in the PICC ?? 
I am a trained medical professional. How could I do something so stupid? Oy. Found this site & hope to learn more about the psychology of the addiction as well as the best ways to get OFF. I know all the textbook crap, but it doesn't always apply to the real world, does it!?
Have NOTHING against recreational drug use or people who use drugs. Just don't want to be one myself.
