To my knowledge, the cannabioids which have been identified as antioxidants(electron donors) are HU-211, Δ9-THC(specifically the (+) isomer), CBD, CBN, nabilone, and L-nantradol.
Experiments with cultures of rat cerebrocortical neurons have shown CBD to protect against glutamate-induced neurotoxicity, and neurotoxicity mediated by NMDA, AMPA and kainate receptors. Δ9-THC was also effective against AMPA/kainate receptor-mediated toxicity and neither it nor CBD was antagonized by SR141716A. CBD was found to be more neuroprotective than 2 endogenous antioxidants, α-tocopherol(Vitamin E) & ascorbic acid(Vitamin C). Evidence exists also that CBD ad Δ9-THC can protect serum-deprived human B lymphoblastoid cells or mouse NIH 3T3 fibroblasts from oxidative cell death.
A currect theory as to why certain cannabinoids such as CBD possess antioxidant activity is because like the established antioxidant tocopherol, they contain a pheonlic OH group and a hydrophobic alkyl side chain. This may explain why cannabinoids such as anandamide and WIN55212-2 lack detectable antioxidant activity, as they also lack those structural features
.
This is just the tip of the iceberg, and basically what I'm askin is if someone else could provide me with some more information on this subject. And also just what your guys' thoughts are.

Btw someone please correct me if any of this information is inaccurate.
Much L<3ve :)

Oh also, if you'd like sources just ask. I just don't feel like typing all of them out right now.

Damn i'm sorry but there are so many numbers, weird names and things in this post I can't read it!!!

Educate me!

(Im rly fkn high i can't read it fo real!!! ;o)

Nice info. Sorry I really dont have anything to add for you. Imagine one day CBD and THC on the shelf along side vitamins and minerals :)

Very interesting subject. Alas I too have not much to contribute. Perhaps asking in advanced drug discussion will yield some more intelligible responses.

I've subscribed to the thread nonetheless and pls, post back here if you find more info! Thanks for posting what ya did.

^LOL man, smoking a nasty-ass factory cigar filled with burning hemp will deplete your body of ascorbate (vitamin C) so quickly. You need to take a lot of vitamin C if you combust anything and breathe in the smoke. THC may have antioxidant properties, but smoke itself is highly oxidative.

Good to hear a voice of reason rog. Too often I see stoner degenerates not looking closely at an issue that says that marijuana is beneficial in this way or that. No insinuation whatsoever.

I feel like it's: "fuck the world I dont care about anything but living in my own artificial bubble. World war three could be going on but that's not my problem, I just wanna inhale smoke like it's air".

Choose your destiny, it always comes down to reality.

I think marijuana has great medicinal potential, if used according to need. Psychologically, I believe it's only healthy once a week at most.

Smoke weed...prevent the common cold?

:D

It doesn't prevent it .
When you smoke weed , it does take
away the symptoms , but when the high is gone I just feel even worse .

Cos weed smoked lowers your immune system.
...... but If it was vaporized then it would be a good remedy
