I was prescribed this drug for general anxiety disorder. It gives me mild anxiety but I truly believe it has some recreational value. My body is flowing like water. My whole bottle feels great. The thing about this drug is tolerance builds up quick if you take it for a long time so just take it once a month.

Uhm, get your facts straight. Neurontin is not even metabolized by the liver. It's actually one of the safest drugs for your liver. You cannot detect it in a blood test.

Neurontin is a brand, gabapentin is the active ingredient. And according to wikipedia there are "several cases of hepatotoxicity reported in the literature". I'm just citing sources.

Fuck gabapentin, that shits worthless. My dad is prescribed it for nerve pain (i think) and it sucks some major ballz. Some of my friends took a couple neurontins while drinking and they both ended up in the hospital!

This is not a drug you want to fuck around with (it's worthless).

It's 6 AM here and it's about time for my daily roxicodone shot 30mg...

try lyrica instead stronger than gabapentin and relives anxiety so it says on the box..!

Neurontin is great, but only in high doses and during the first days.
After that, you feel nothin at all from it anymore....

And about hepatoxicity, I doubt it causes more hepatoxicity than any other medication (they all cause hepatoxicity to some degree)

neurontin (gabapentin) was indeed a great drug for anxiety/feeling good the first time i used it (900mg)

after that it's useless... even at doses nearing 3 grams.

Same for me, it worked only the 1st time I took it, and never worked anymore.

It was a huge dose (more than 4000mg I think), and I felt very trippy, it really felt like the mental part of a low-dose shroom trip....

I have to agree. I have nerve damage in my knee and severe anxiety I used to get gabapentin cause I had no insurance but now that I do I get lyrica and it works 20 times better for the pain and my anxiety

^ Lyrica is definitely better. Gabapentin is good to potentiate the Lyrica IME.
Need high doses and I find a few tokes really gives a nice mellow but unique type of high. you just can't do it daily as everyone has stated, at least to get high. I usually take a daily dose and periodically I'll take a lot more and get high. I take breaks from it with benzos but I'm really trying to contain my benzo use. I find it acts more like a mood stabilizer with daily use. It does 'dampen' the CNS. It just isn't hugely intoxicating except in infrequent high doses.

Ive had a script of gabapentin for a while now to try to help keep my benzo usage low, and ive found the effects to be highly inconsistent. Like 1 out of 5 times it will actually give me the sedation I need. The other times it has little to no effect. And tolerance develops quick. Plus, the bigger the dose gets, the smaller the bioavailability becomes. Once you get much past 1600mg, its almost worthless to take any more because barely any of it will even be absorbed by your body. You have to take somewhere on the range 3-5 grams to actually get any effect if you're already fully tolerant to a 1600mg dose.
And as Jasoncrest mentioned, it does have some strange trippy effects. Id almost classify it as a disassociative effect, with a dash of schizophrenia. It can feel uncomfortable at times. Regardless of these downsides, I still have a special place in my heart for gabapentin. I'm just looking forward to when they have a generic of lyrica available, which won't be for a long time.

I took 3300mg and became extremely emotional. I wanted to correct issues with my father and felt completely comfortable calling him/sobbing and trying to connect with him. This is nothing like me, normally. I also felt no anxiety for how this would effect our relationship during or after it occurred. The whole ride was just about negative things in my life, however, they didn't cause anxiety. It was very strange compared to other drugs i've done. Nothing like Lyrica, MDMA, kpins, or valium. The next week I gave my roommate a smaller dose (600mg) and he told me that he was reading an article about a place he used to live and just started to cry. I had never told him about my previous emotional experience when he told me this. So it must be more common but I haven't read many other similar experiences. Anyone else out there get this?

It's hard to believe this stuff isn't an opiate agonist. It feels almost identical to opiates, body feels all tingly, just minus the warmness.

It's good for pain too, it pretty much numbs your whole body, without the dissociated feeling.

Has anyone found it to be harsh on the stomach? At first i thought i was having stomach problems cause i quit smoking and have been running more intensely lately so i thought maybe this was affecting my stomach but now i believe its the gabapentin. Sucks cause i had a few good nights on it at doses of 1200mg. Also i know propoxyphene is shit but i take only 2 tablets of it (i know thats useless to ppl with abuse of oxy and stuff) about an hour after i feel the gaba kicking in and it potentiates really well for me. But today my stomach was feeling pretty shit to say the least.

But now some benzos alleviated that.

yeah, i took this for a few months. beautiful liquid flowing floating quality, lightness in body and freshness to thoughts, easygoing attitude - but only at the beginning.

Waylost, i took this for months and it never caused any noticeable stomach upset, and i was drinking a lot of coffee and eating like a college student at the time.
