negatives to DMT

so i've been researching DMT for a good while now. suppose to say, i should soon have the oppertunity of aquiring some. however, in all my research, it seems that negatives of this substance are very rarley mentioned. the issue being, that im fully aware all drugs have their side effects, both long and short term. risks with short term use and continual use.
any ideas? personal experience of draw backs and issues or even anecdotal problems?

I've always suspected it does more damage to the lungs than is thought of, especially if you end up accidentally burning it.

I can definitely feel a filmy residue in my throat/lungs when I smoke it for a day or two. I think it adds a lot of gunk.

But then again, the fact that it is derived naturally and is a classic triptamine makes any pain well worth it. :D

i swear i gave myself some kind of minor PTSD through my own stupidity with that stuff. previously i had smoked it and had amazing enlightening experiences. but had the idea of snorting some big lines whilst quite drunk in a flat around people doing nitrous... sent me pretty fucking insane for about half an hour. got stuck in loops, thought i was going to have to go to a mental asylum or something. thats the only problems ive had with it

It can be very intense, Ive had experiences that were ultimately positive, but at the time the level of intensity was quite unsettling to say the least. I think the prevalence of positive effects is because most of the people who have access or interest in DMT are already quite experienced in psychedelic drugs, and are thus more prepared. I think for the uninitiated DMT could be terrifying, but that could be said of any psychedelic drug

Overall, there arn't many negatives to this wonderful molecule. However, it is a psychedelic substance and an extremely powerful one at that; so it is entirely possible for the experience to be distressing to the individual psychologically.

I always advise people to work there way up in small increments, so that they get a feel for the direction there mind is taking and can develop a sense of comfort for the initial rush. Jumping headfirst into a breakthrough dose without any prior experience can be very negative depending on how accepting the individual is.

The most difficult aspect of DMT for me was bearing witness to logic and belief smash against each other in spectacular paradoxical form until neither existed and what appeared to be impossible existed as me.

I've never had any issues with breathing in the smoke, but some people experience a burning sensation and harshness in their lungs. I've had a few friends who have thrown up after smoking it, but i think this also has to do with how the DMT is extracted.

I second the 'bad for your lungs' thing. Cleaning up the poduct after an extractiom with NaOH is vital, IMO. Also, DMT gave me moderate HPPD after nearly daily (4-5 sessions a week, about 50-70 mg per session, mostly sub-brealthrough doses) use for about two months. Quit doing so much DMT and alcohol (my fave combo at that time), things cleared up in about half a year.
