negative physical effects of psychedelics?

I've tripped several times on 4-Aco-DMT (20-40mg) and 25i-nBOME(1mg). The trips have been enjoyable, but each time I've noticed some odd physical symptoms: leg pain, blueish hands, red blotches on my chest, and a strange squeezing, crushing pain in my abdomen. I've heard psychedelics can cause vasoconstriction, so that could explain some of this. My question is, does any of this sound likely to cause me actual physical harm? It never bothers me that much at the time and I have no lingering effects after the drug wears off, but I wouldn't want to cause any damage to my body.

Thanks

I really would just dump any drugs that cause side effects like that. Sounds like you could have dirty drugs.

If you still can recrystallize your chemicals. Its easy to do, and it will tell you if your drugs are truly impure.

What was really eye opening to me was The Psychedelics Adverse Effects Poll at the Shroomery. To name but one unexpected finding: Out of almost 2500 people who answered the question 9% fainted once or more regularly during trips. One in ten people has lost consciousness during one or more trips. To me, that was a shocker. The poll is full of answers that make clear that substantial adverse effects of shrooms and other psychedelics are relatively common.

Absolutely ime. During my first bad trip on 2c-e my balls retreated back into my stomach and my dick shriveled up and started retreating back into my stomach. Scared the fuck out of me. I also had a knot in my stomach that was bulging out, about the size of a softball. To this day I still don't understand what happened and why. It was by far the most uncomfortable/terrifying thing i've ever experienced. I dosed an eighth of shrooms about a month after the trip and the same thing happened. Now my body reacts to hallucinogens in this manner every time. Some weird shit:? Any ideas as to what this could be?

That's pretty bizarre. I sometimes wonder if a part of this isn't psychological, it can cause pretty odd body sensations sometimes that may have more to do with your perceptions being so distorted. I guess I'll probably stick with it a little longer, as I don't have any tangible problems from it. Definitely goes against the conventional wisdom of psychedelics being completely easy on the body and harmless.

Are you getting that from both or just the 25i-nBOME?

I've never noticed vasoconstriction from tryptamines, but find it to be a pretty common with phenethylamines.

I felt similar effects from both (as well as from 2ce), actually it seemed somewhat less noticeable from the nBOME.

This seems very uncommon with 4-aco-DMT. It's usual side effects include anxiety, nausea, and possible feelings of unwanted stimulation after the trip is done. Note that those side effects will not be present in everyone, all the time. It is considered, along with 4-ho-DMT (Psilocin) to be one of the most physically transparent psychedelics known to man.

25i-nbome is a different case. Some people consider it very smooth, others have side effects like vasoconstriction, overstimulation, nausea, diahrhea, etc. It also does not have the track record of 4-aco-DMT, which has been available since 2006.

Anything that causes vasoconstriction and especially blue hands is something you should not continue to take, however.

Have you tried lower doses of 4-aco-DMT and noticed the same effects? 40mg is a high dose. Most I ever took was 35mg and I've taken 4-aco-DMT quite a number of times. But even at 35mg I did not feel the side effects were more produced than at doses in the teens of milligrams. But I would be very suprised if you took 10mg of 4-aco-DMT and noticed any side effects at all.

Not all psychedelics are "easy on the body and harmless" by any means. Bromo-dragonfly is a notorious example. DOB is another example. Even DOM can be quite the white-knucle ride. 2C-T-7 is another example which is physically risky especially at higher doses. There are a good number of psychedelics that are known to have pronoucned physical side effects for most people. 25i-nbome is borderline one of these. 4-aco-DMT however is known to be on the lesser end of the spectrum when it comes to these unwanted effects. For most people it is basically a cleaner version of mushrooms.

However, I have fainted (passed out) from mushrooms on at least two or three occasions. It is not known why this can happen, but it can. Vasoconstriction and blue hands, on the other hand, is not to be expected at all.

This really is quite fascinating. Although not a scientific poll of course, it is still insightful, so too are the other statistics in this poll. I believe that some of the possible negative aspects of psychedelic use tend to be glossed over by enthusiasts, including by some on this esteemed forum.

Be careful, everyone - but you already knew that, right? :)

Bear in mind the kind of people you are dealing with tho - presumably a good percentage of these responses were by kids who may have been up all night, taking other drugs etc. And still 90% of them were fine.

What negative aspects are you talking about putin? That one in ten teenagers who has been up all night taking drugs loses consciousness?

I find that psychedelics are one of those strange grey areas in which to really judge possible negative side-effects for a number of reasons. One of which that I tend to harp on my friends about is the fact that while tripping a lot of people (usually within their earlier experiences) can have hypochondriac like experiences and think themselves into a negative situation and even negative side-effects.

Now I'm not trying to say that psychedelics are harmless and that no one has ever had any negative physical side-effects from them. Except I mean LSD is basically perfect. But most drugs are completely safe when used correctly and intelligently.

However I do get some gnarly stomach and pain issues on most 2C's and mushrooms. But eh. . . .I just don't want to admit their bad. It's like the woman who doesn't leave the abusive Husband. (And I don't need any abrasive comments towards me about that last bit. It's just an analogy.)
