negative interactions w/ azithromycin & methamphetamine

Are there any know negative drug effects when taking a prescribed Z Pack (azithromycin) while smoking methamphetamine or having it in your system? The first dose is a strong (2)250mg of the antibiotic and I cannot find info on their interaction anywhere. I also take clonazepam daily. I have painful strep throat and put off taking the Rx a day until I figure out if Im ok having meth in my system..not something I would've brought up to my doctor anyhow. Any advice is greatly appreciated Thanks!

i agree with halfoz, it sounds like ur still tweaking and focusing on ur anxiety which will go away.. one of the best things u can do is try to keep ur mind off what u think your body is doing... try to eat, rest, hydrate

I understand youd like discretion from ur doc but I would go to the pharmacist tell him the patient is ur cousin (invent a person) tell him that he ingested some meth & if there are any negative reactions that could result youd be amazed the questions they get that's their job. That way your not imbarassed, the guy u invent is, you get legitimate & accurate info& no one is the wiser. Plus healh professionals (good ones anyway) don't want to pass judgement they just want u to be healthy the whole Hypocratic oath thing. But there's ur solution. Anonymity is wonderful

What I do to look for potential interactions between meth and other drugs is look to see if there are any interactions with similar drugs that are more commonly prescribed, like other amphetamines. Azithromycin has no interactions listed for other amphetamines that I could find. So at this point my only concern would be that both are hard on your immune system so you might want to take it easy on the meth (and also to help you heal from the strep throat and prevent it from recurring). And always take a probiotic while taking antibiotics and for a while afterwards in order to replenish your necessary good bacteria, since antibiotics kill good bacteria along with the bad. You should take the probiotic at a different time of day than the azithromycin. If I don't take a probiotic I get really bad stomach aches/abdominal pains while taking macrolide antibiotics like azithromycin.

There are no interactions listed with clonazepam by the way.
