I hope this isn't seen as sourcing, and if it is I'm sorry to give you mods more work.
To be concise, I may be needing to administer an IM injection.
Will a chemist sell me the needle? If not, do needle exchanges have 22 gauge needles?
Basically I'm asking how/where to obtain a needle for an IM injection, and I'm hoping it's not sourcing.
 
There's no reason you can't IM with the same needles you use to IV, though I'd make sure you filter your shot with a micron filter first.
 
You can try a chemist, but a lot of them may not stock a wide range of needles / syringes. A needle and syringe program will most likely stock what you're after. Phone them in advance to check what they've got.
 
Your local NSP(needle & Syringe program) will more than likely carry a wide variety of needles and syringes as well as micron filters if your lucky. In NSW we're lucky that all that stuff is free including the micron filters but ive heard that in other states everything is free except the microns will go from $1-3 I think, definitely invest in some microns if your considering IM'ing anything that doesnt come out of a pharm grade vial/ampule.

EDIT: Depending on what your injecting i'd suggest using a 3ml syringe and a 25-27g needle, 22g is too big and will hurt your arm/butt. May I ask what are you IM'ing?
 
Depending on your body fat percentage you could administer the IM injection with an insulin needle which many pharmacies sell. If your body fat is too high then the neelde wont be able to penetrate to the muscle

No worries, this definitely falls under harm reduction. :)

I also think you should try a NSP, I haven't come across many pharmacies with that gauge.
 
NSP is your go to for needles and syringes. I know the regular rig for IM steroid use (injecting into the butt) is 3ml syringe with 23gx 1 1/4" needle
 
You might have to shop around a bit to find micron filters which are a good idea for IM use. I think they aren;t quite as hard to find in SA but I know lots of NSPs in VIC don't stock them. I have never heard of a chemist selling anything but normal insulin jabs, doesn't mean they don't but NSP seems a way better and easier option.
 
Awesome, been getting equipment from them since I started IVing and they've always been great.
 
I am pretty sure the size you want is .22, iirc you get .45 and .22 and .22 is the finer one that will filter more shit out. You may wantto ask at the NSP though as they are surely more knowledgable than I am on the subject.
 
^ yup 0.22um filter will remove bacteria and fungal spores (although not viruses). Because IM injections just basically sit in the muscle until absorbed, there is an increased risk of abscess formation if there is any bacterial contamination of your drug mix (compared to IV).

@ OP. just make sure you know what muscle to inject into ;) (as I have no fuckn clue so I couldnt tell you lol)
 
i hate going to chemists for rigs. They always give you dirty looks and you're made to feel like a junkie scumbag for asking for the stuff. the other thing is I use my chemists for legit and semi legit purchases. of course if I go in and buy a rig they'll always remember and thus have a reason to refuse sale of codeine on the basis that i'm abusing it.

definitely use a needle exchange. I know the OP is IM'ing but I find the needle exchanges give you better rigs for IV'ing the smaller 0.5mls as opposed to the 1.0mls rigs they put in the packs. i find the slight bigger rigs get stuck when your injecting thus causing you to jerk and spike the vein.

Definitely don't inject it into your dick.
