Needle Syringe Program Locations

I managed to find a listing of some Victorian needle exchanges. link

Here is the site for the Kings Cross injecting cente, I am not 100% but am assuming they have nurses that can give IV'ing tips and they are definately able to administer naloxone on site. I would think that most injecting drug users, even pretty experienced ones, could benefit from atleast one or two visits being supervised by a nurse as you may improve your technique to be more safe/sterile. Also the fact it is basically impossible to die from an OD is a big plus. I am not sure if it is a needle exchange per say, but I am betting they would let you take home needles.

I encourage anyone who is remotely close to Sydney who is inexperienced with IV'ing go there even if it is a bit of a trek because it really could save your life. I hope one day this program is implemented in the rest of our states and territories.

I have to say this is a great idea for a thread, I know the cost of needles can be an issue that leads broke IDU's to re use and share needles, hopefully atleast a few of these people will find out they can get free picks nearby and no longer face this problem. I am pretty "relaxed" right now ;) but I will see if I can dig up some listings for other states in the next few days.

Solid idea for a thread :)

Anyone in Adelaide should check out Streetlink if they're in need of a needle exchange, it's on Gresham St just off Hindley St in the city. They offer syringes, swaps, clean water, micron filters and anything else you could need for IV drug use, all completely free of charge and with friendly & helpful staff.

Some NSP contact details on Harm Reduction Contact thread - sticky at top of page.

There are close to 200 NSPs in Victoria - contact Direct Line 1800 888 236 to find your closest. The one's on the link drug_mentor put up include the main ones - these will have the full range of stock and also things like wheel filters etc for purchase. The Dianella site is a "secondary" - just the basics. There are also a number of car based outreach services that run nightly 365 days of the year and will deliver.

BTW - nearly everything will be closed over Easter - if you didn't stock up today you still have options - the night time car services will be running in Melbourne. The St Kilda crisis centre runs 24/7 right through - same with Werribee hospital (although they don't stock condoms - don't ask!). And you can pick up from Foot Patrol in Melb CBD 7.30pm-11pm

OP im not sure of your location but if you are in Melbourne needle exchange programs do free delivery of needles of any type. Or lots of chemists sell fitpacks... you get about 5 pins and sterile water for $5

The WA gov page on NSP is outdated and the addresses are wrong (I rocked up and it was a housing centre, was so embarrassed asking for needles).
There are 2 in Perth but I can personally vouch for this one:

The WA AIDS Countsil
