Needle Question - what do the little dots mean?

I apoligize in advance if this is not the right area, wasn't sure if maybe OD would be more appropriate but thought here would be. On the needles we use & others I've seen there is sometimes little dots on the barrel, they are at the same end as the needle and on the outside of the black bottom piece of the plunger, I hope that makes sense. There can be 2, 1 or no dots. A friend said that 2's are the sharpest and no dots are a little duller. However all the no dots seem to be sharper. I'm curious if these dots actually mean what he said or if they mean something else. I have used the search engine, as well as searched google & looked through a couple injection threads and haven't seen anyone even mention these dots. So I am hoping someone knows what they mean. Thank you!

I have never heard of this. I searched around a little and it seems all needles are sharpened the same. I know that cap color often indicates the gauge, but I have never heard of these dots.

I had thought they were all sharpened the same too so hearing that kinda made me wonder. I would think they'd have some purpose but haven't found it yet. Thank you for answering. I now know I was right in my initial assumption.
Kokaino- Thank you for sending this to the correct spot. I debated on which one & almost posted there.
