needle only used once, sitting in a clean space

so its been sitting in a clean safe spot for some time, last time it was used, it was cleaned with water. and put away
what harm is there in using it again, im sure hepatitis may be one of them,
sorry if this question is lame, but in all likely hood is it safe to use again
they say use once and throw away ,....

whats the best way to clean it if you had to use it again ?

my paranoid mind is tripping on if a virus or crazy ass bacteria could be growing on it
i seen shits dull as a butter knife, being used , this one is basically brand new used once

First and foremost, Hepititis doesn't just magically come from nowhere, there has to be a source for it to even be present on the needle.

Secondly, bacteria is killable by a isopropyl rinse, so that should be the last of your worry. Draw alcohol up through the syringe and make space and shake then squirt it out. You can soak the whole rig in alcohol to kill bacteria just rinse it with a sterile water source afterwards. DON'T USE FUCKING TAP WATER!!!! That's fucking gross.

No matter how clean your rig is, if your hands are not clean, the rig is contaminated. That is how I see it...

WASH YOUR DAMN HANDS BEFORE YOU CLEAN THE RIG AND BEFORE YOU CLEAN THE INJECTION SITE. I hate to see people with dirty ass hands act all cleanly and just act like their hands are microbially protected naturally... Going with the flow like their shit is not gonna get contaminated. That's fucking gross!!!

Yeah you can pretty much sterilize the needle and as long as you aren't sharing it blood borne infection are not an issue. This is the biggest problem with reusing needles.

Yeah, between 1 and 2 uses should be advised as max usage for a single needle. If you don't swap out, you will bruise the hell out of your veins.

buy needles in bulk. they will end up costing you about 13cents each. I has an abscess from using an old needle and I lanced it. STUPID!!! I got a MRSA Staph infection and had to go to urgent care for 10 days while they cut dead black flesh from my forearm. The Doctors&nurses said they had seen bigger but not worse. And you get no Pain meds.Just a shitty topical antiseptic that did not work.I could have lost my arm. I am an IV user but do not advocate IV use. IF you never pick it up,you never miss what you don't know. Clean rig every time! and don't share. DON'T. here is a very useful link to reiterate all of these posts.

Ok I just joined this site today and this picture is seriously shocking. I only go on a needle binge about once a year and everytime is the last time but this really makes me think. I can only imagine what mine have looked like as I've often been so fucked up that I scrape the inside of the cap.
