Need some advice

Hey there guys,

I have been a long time lurker here at bluelight, and found the information here to be extremely helpful. I started rolling about a year back and have done so 6 times so far. All the safety advice and the post loading advice really helped me, and I have come to really trust the things that are said in this place.

That being said, I could not find information relating to this.

I have a friend who has not been into doing drugs at all. But recently she has started experimenting with some weed. We are very close and she always knew what I was up at any given time, and I have asked her to join me whenever I was rolling. Recently she said she wanted to try it, but at the same time she also confessed that she has a heart condition called Arrhythmia, and her heart sometimes goes crazy if she is too stressed or if she is really sad or really angry. She has also been recently diagnosed as being bipolar.

I have warned her against rolling but she is for some reason determined to try it. I just wanted to know the risks involved and how I can minimize it. I would really appreciate all the help. I would rather she not do it, but there is no convincing her. I would really like to help her in anyway I can.

Thanks for anything that you guys can give me.

That sounds like a pretty bad mix man. She's bipolar with heart problems, so she could easily react badly to it and completely lose her mind, and possibly have a hearty attack. That said, she could also get anxious on th come up, and not being use to it or knowing what to expect, she could get overly focused on this bc of her heart problem and could lead into a bad trip.

If she's determined to do it, the best option would be to take it with her, pre load with some anti oxidants, and only give her half a pill to start and see how she feels.

Welcome to Bluelight, I'm glad you've found lots of useful information on here.

If she is on medication for bipolar disorder, there is a strong possibility that she may be on something that inhibits MDMA from having any (or few) positive effects- please advise her of this, if she is on medication. http://www.erowid.org has lots of information of medication interactions with MDMA, and she can likely do a search of her medication and MDMA in Google and find information as well.

If she is not being medicated for bipolar disorder, and she wishes to take MDMA, she may find it helpful and therapeutic- I have a friend is bipolar and benefitted tremendously from (responsible) MDMA use. I state that with caution, however. There are no guarantees with that it's going to be a positive thing for her individually.

I have a mild heart arrhythmia, and have had no problems myself. Stimulants + heart problems tend to be a bad idea, but certainly people with heart conditions don't necessarily avoid stimulants. No one can tell you how much of a risk MDMA would pose to her specifically- heart arrhythmia conditions vary quite a bit person to person.

Thanks for the replies.

@somedud: I am yet do pressed pills, I only do caps. I know there might not be much difference in the two, but for some reason, I feel safer with the caps.

@Bsiren: She is not on any medication right now. The thing is, we don't have a place where we could do it, but there is an event coming up and that is where she wants to try it. But thank you for the advice I seriously hope nothing happens. Once she decides she wants something there is no stopping her.

Make sure what she's taking is clean, a meth bomb would not be good. Other than that I would try to have her take it easy with a small dose and not to go crazy dancing and all that stuff, which will raise her heart rate.

Thanks, that brings me to my other question though I do not know if I can ask it here. Correct me if I am wrong though.

Where can I get test kits in Canada?

It depends on how bad her heart condition and Bi-Polar disorder if it not severe at all and very slight I guess it COULD BE FINE.

I would recommend taking a walk in the park or some other beautiful place. You don't have to take MDMA only at raves or at home. Walking in park on MDMA with cool people can be a very enlightening experience.

My advice to her:
I've none many people who are bi-polar that roll. It generally turns out for the best if they're responsible about it. As long as she doesn't abuse it or do it often she should be fine. I've also known people with heart problems who roll with heart problems (including myself, I have a strong heart mummer) and the only problem I've noticed is the come-up. It's really anxious and requires a good place to sit down and stay calm.

I wouldn't suggest her rolling at a show/club/rave for her first time. You never know how she could react to it, and though I'm sure she'll have a great time, it's safest to try it in a calm environment where she feels comfortable incase she has a bad come up, or even a bad roll. Try it at home, if it goes well and she wants to, in a few months she can try it at some sort of event. If you guys can't roll at one of your guys' house, see if a friend will let you use theirs or do it somewhere else she would feel safe and relaxed.

My advice to you:
Try not to be too worried about it. I know, it sounds dumb to not worry, but if your worried and she takes drugs she's never done before, that alone could make it a bad roll for her. I'm not saying don't worry at all, just try to be happy and fun when she takes it, even if it turns out bad. You worrying will only make things worse.

Also, buy a test kit and test the pills/powder/rocks before anyone takes them. This is something you should be doing anyways, but especially in this case for her first time. Make sure your MDMA is real and good, then just have fun. Stay with her while she rolls, and just make it as safe and fun for both of you as possible.

In my opinion, if she was ONLY bipolar Id say shove as many pills down her throat as possible some ecstasy would probably fix it! hahaha

But the heart condition thing is too risky. She shouldnt even be thinking about putting herself at such a risk.

Have her try psychedelics instead, way safer.

Simple approach: have her try a small dose first and wait. She can always take more next time...

Also, women experience a drop in serotonin around their period. In women with bi-polar disorder or other mental health problems, this is often exacerbated at this time of the month.

I highly recommend that she try it about a week after her period ends. This will ensure optimal serotonergic functioning!

As always, control her body temperature - especially if she reacts badly.
