Opioids Need some advice on up coming pain mngmt doc appt

Well, basically I have been seeing this doctor for around 4months and I am taking ( 4.5x 10mg methadone tablets daily ) and ( 2x 5mg oxyir tablets every 6 hours ). So, my question is basically I am not feeling dope sick at all, although those 40mg of oxyir do not touch my pain what so ever.

So, please list some breakthrough pain meeds that have done good for you and if it is realistic switching to these, and i know trust me I have taken more at once than supposed too and no relief so dose/tolerance are not the issue.

Well when i went to a pain management doctor a few years ago,I was prescribed 3 Oxycontin 40mg per day and 3 10mg methadone per day as breakthrough pain med( which is crazy because it takes an hour or two for methadone to fully kick in!), but at a different doctor a few years previuos to that I was prescribe 50mqg Fentanyl patches with 30mg MSIR tablets,and altho i don't like morpine really the 30mg MSIR are pretty effective compared to 5mg oxyIR's..i have taken those also and i had to take a lot to get any releief from them..If you want meds for pain relief and not extra meds for a buzz(i wanted and got both) oxymorphone aka opana works for many,although i have not tried Opana myself,, it is a pill or tablet form of oxymorphone which was only available as a nasal spray and was effective ,or maybe fentanyl tablets? they don't last very long tho 2 or 3 hours and require more frequent doing that ocir or MSIR but they work ..anyway thats about all i can remember now..

My aunt has been a CPP for 10 years and they finally found the perfect combo for her.

20mg Opana ER 2 or 3x a day and 4x 15mg Oxy IR for breakthrough.

Too bad she wont snort the pana, I wanted to see just how poorly they worked orally so I took 2.....Didn't even catch a buzz. Snorted 1/2 of one and was FLYYYYYING.

i messed up, my regiment is actually, ( 80mg methadone/day, 150mg oxycodone (5x 30mg Roxi's) / day, 2mg Xanax / 2x day, Focalin 3x day total 30mg, and 15mg Roxi 120 a month just for the hell of it.. )

sorry I am just looking for something to switch from methadone too, because I am trying to ween off and oxy is no problem and the methadone is going to be imposable.. I was on Oxycontin but hated it.

4mg xanax along with all the opiates is safe? why are you prescribed so much xanax?

Sorry man we can't give you medical advice, we have no idea how your body will react to diff pain killers so it is pointless to speculate.

Talk to your doctor they are are the ones who are educated about these things not people on the internet.

^So you just tell the doctor what you want and he gives it to you? That is ridiculous doctors like that are the reason the government is cracking down on prescription medicines so much and making it harder for people who need these medicines for legitimate problems to get them because doctors that don't act like yours are scared to prescribe them because of the consequences they could face.

Ofcourse you're not gonna feel oxycodone while on 80mg of methadone a day. Anything higher than 30mg a day, in my experience, blocks the analgesic and euphoric effect of just about any opiate I've tried to use. You could IV 30mg of oxymorphone and feel nothing more than the histamine release.

And your doc should be shot for giving you that much benzos(4mg of alprozalam IR a day) with methadone. Plus all the oxycodone you get. And you've only been seeing him 4 months!

You need to have a serious discussion with your doctor. We don't know your medical condition or pain scale, and nobody here is a doctor, and if they are, they are not acting in that capacity.
