Need some advice on 5-htp

I do stimulant drugs once a week and have just decided to get some 5-htp. On the pack it recommends 2 a day at 50mg each making 100mg. Is this a good amount to do?

Also, on a night out, would i do 2 before taking the stimulant drug? Or should i leave a long gap in between taking 5-htp and the stimulant drug. Also, the next day should i take it as soon as possible or wait for the comedown to end?

i would just start taking it once a day before bed and stay on that schedule, that way your blood serum levels will be consistant, and then you can double your dose when you actively taking your stim. IME it doesn't matter at what point of the stimulant lifecycle you take it. Think of 5-HTP like an anti-depressant, you have to keep a regular schedule of it for it to be most effective.

100mg is fine. ive taken 200mg before with no problems

If i were to take 100mg a day for 6 days. And do a stimulant drug on the 6th day, would i notice anything different or does it need longer than 6 days?

I'm not sure on how long you have to take 5-htp before you really benefit from it's use. I know with most anti-depressants it's 4 to 6 weeks for full therapeutic review.

Well im only using it to increase my serotonin level. No other reason. Was wondering if 3 capsules a day for a week would increase it ready for the stimulant drug.

^^In that case yes it should help somewhat. Although the one crash symptom you will still get is the fatigue.

Might even take a few right before i do the stimulant drug. Wonder if that will do anything.

Isn't it still unproven that 5htp even affects serotonin?

I dont think so. Ive read up a lot about it and everywhere says it helps your brain produce serotonin faster.
