My soon to be husband and I are both pretty regular IV cocaine users. The problem is that he is also a diabetic and has trouble with his veins from use of other drugs before we got together. my question is since I am a nurse and can start an IV for him when we start to use for the night or whatever instead of having to re stick him so many times?

I didnt explain exactly what i ment last night I wasnt talking about leaving the iv in for a continious drip only having the portal there to inject the same thing we would use for a shot each. I was just thinking having a portal there would be easier than looking for a new vein and having to stick him so many times.

If you have a medical grade real IV set up then yea i assume it would be fine, but not just like leaving a needle in his arm. if you have a real IV set up where you can hook it up to drip, but it disconnects and you can do a shot thru it to, id think that would be fine, it would be exactly like waht they do at the hospital but im not sure im just speculating,.
