Just for fun and to test what we would yield my girlfriend and I planted four lil pot seeds in a lil pot and sure enough its been three days and four sprouts about two inches tall are already reaching for the sky my question is, should we seperate the four seedlings so they dont eventually kill each other? Also, any tips on how often to water, the amount of light they need, and whether or not im going to just have four hermaphrodite useless plants? Thanks and any help or tips are greatly appreciated :D

Well, damn like I said it was just a kind of spoof project to spend some time together and we were planting a lot of veggies and other garden type plants. So I look over to the ashtray and sure enough there were four really beautiful tiger striped seeds so we just got a litte gardening cup and pushed a hole in the soil and tossed them in. The sprouts are a little apart from one another but i dont want their roots to wrap each other up. But at the same time i dont want to kill the seedlings by trying to move them unless its necessary yet.

^^ it doesnt have to be asap

just wait till you can tell which are male n which are female

and then

KILL THE MALES

feel like some nut job femanist sayin that :)

looks like you got alot of studying to do about growing cannabis. do alot of research and watch videos on youtube so you will understand how growing weeed works. and yes seperate each one now before they get bigger and try to put them in a pot big enough for them to grow fully matire and flower in, you dont want to be moving them in and out of pots every month. best way is to learn from experience so have fun but do your research please(you shouldnt be growing marijuana if you dont even know the difference between a male and feamle)

Males dont grow buds, you want females.

I dont think there going to survive in that cup untill they show sex, i found plants become sexually mature after 4-8 weeks(meaning after that time you will not which are female, and male..) depending on the strain and by that time your cup is gonna be rootbound, and your plants are probably gonna be fucked.

Your best bet would be to gently remove them, it'll stress them no doubt and they may not grow for a week or 2 depending on the damage, but better then leaving them in the 1 small pot.

Is this indoor or outdoor??

Agreed, seriously start educating yourself or you wont know what needs to be done, and no doubt alot of newbie Q's are gonna be posted in CD.

Join a Cannabis forum, start a grow log and read read read!

You'll get advice from the ones that know there stuff, and you'll learn and understand it along the way.

Be gentle, and separate your plants into different containers. Let them have plenty of natural light. Do some reading, and do not be discouraged if they do not turn out as planned. Growing often takes several tries until you begin to understand what cannabis likes. Within a few years, you will be able to grow some nice buds.

About male/female, it is difficult to tell until later in the plant's life, unless you know how to sex plants, which still cannot be done until they are about 2-3 months old. I suggest that if they turn into healthy plants within a ~six weeks, that you put them in separate rooms, then plant them outdoors, in buckets (with holes drilled in the bottom for drainage and air), in separate places, far away from one another.

umm

You guys are too critical. It's repeated that this is only a project and for fun. Can someone please be more helpful....

I think good advice has already been given. Gently separate them or else they'll tangle their roots quickly and get root-bound in the little pot.

If it is just a fun project then why are you so worried anyway?

Because nothing would make me happier than if this small project turned out some sort of smokable result that is why im somewhat worried and want everything to go well. Im going to try and post some pictures of the sprouts so you guys can see how they are coming along. I've already gently seperated them and they didnt seem too disturbed with being in their own little pots and have resumed growing.

if you want some fast, easy, fun growing, get some autoflowering strains.

Lowryder # 2 is a good one for beginners.

& also i'd join up to ICMAG.com.
one of if not THE best grow forum/site on the webs

If you bothered to read ANY of the posts above, they're filled with advice for gowing cannabis, which is what your doing correct? & you can't be too critical, you either do it right and end up with buds, or wrong and end up with a dead mess.

Okay, just separate them, drill holes, and pray.

Fair point.

Okay, now this isn't just for shits and giggles? Make up your mind. If you want results, you are going to have to put in work, get over it. Do research and stop bitching.

here's a fun fact.....I once placed two clones in the same container......they both survived but they only yielded what one plant would've yielded by itself.....

well here is a picture of one of the sprouts. I've noticed that two of them have grown about twice as fast as the other two but they are all growing very rapidly. Is there any reason why two are doing that even though they have all been in the exact same conditions the entire time?:|
